I will probably watch live because I usually do. Christie is always entertaining but very unpopular. Seems this is mostly about how DeSantis and Ramaswamy perform, who goes after whom, and whether they want to spend their political capitol to suck up to the Trump base. I guess there's a smaller chance that Scott or Haley could exceed expectations and gain some momentum - something I think would be best for the country but unlikely.
Ramaswamy will have some explaining to do tonight. He has suggested (he denies it but it's on videotape) that police or federal agents may have been aboard the 9/11 airplanes. IOW on some kind of suicide mission. He said he didn't know, the 9/11 Commission, he said, would find out, but just to suggest it is more utterly stupid than even something Donald Trump might say.
My prediction for the debate. Other than Christie and Asa Hutchinson every one of the other candidates will repeat Trump's mantra that he is the victim of a weaponized DOJ, that he shouldn't be prosecuted and that pledging they will pardon him and most likely his co-defendants and/or will order their AG to terminate any legal action against the him. Again, with the exceptions Christie and Hutchinson and possibly Pence none of them will attack Trump based on his behavior with their rationale that they should be the party's nominee based largely being on the possibility Where that he would be a weak general election candidate. My guess is that Pence may take a middle ground criticizing Trump for his attempt to overturn the election while still taking the position that the former president shouldn't be prosecuted for instigating the attack on the Capitol. The only real difference among the candidates could be on support for Ukraine. Haley strongly supports the aid, apparently Ramaswamy wants to limit aid and DeSantis has been all over the map on the issue, he supported aid when he was in Congress, then took the position of limiting aid and then reversing himself again and supporting aid. Christie strongly supports aid to Ukraine even visiting the country to express his support. As far as the other candidates are concerned I have no idea where they stand on the issue.
Someone needs to leak that an onlyfans model is planning to streak across the stage and watch for ratings bonanza
Well, we don’t know FOR CERTAIN who the nominee from the pubs will be. Yes, I’m trying to be hopeful. Just like I’m holding out some hope that Biden will ultimately NOT be the nominee for the dems. Otherwise, I’m on full clusterfk watch.
I'm curious. How can the first post in a thread (that is, what the thread is about) be "Off-topic"? Is someone here already passing-out drunk?
I'll never forget sitting on the couch with my Canadian uncle watching an Obama debate. Every other sentence out of Uncle Bud's mouth was. "We tried that in Canada, it don't work".
I do want to see if there’s actually a candidate I can vote for, in good conscience, on the pub side. I expect to be disappointed.
This will probably keep my prediction losing streak alive, but I BOLDLY predict that bootsie sez the word narrative more than woke. narrative seems to play a large role in his beloved victimology.
Really?!? You don’t see the possibility of anyone else, besides trump, getting the nomination? Or just don’t have confidence in the alternative candidates, regardless?
Worse. He accused The Atlantic of misquoting him....from a RECORDED interview. The Atlantic released the recording...he lied. Then a campaign spokesperson said the quote was taken out of context. Dodge and weave. Ramaswamy faces scrutiny over suggesting government involvement in 9/11
On what channel? I've thought about watching some baseball again, but I never know when or where there's a game on. Back in the days of Dizzy and Peewee, it was always Saturday afternoon. (Dizzy on a couple kissing in the stands: "He's kissing her on the strikes and she's kissing him on the balls.")
