It's a balance right? The libertarian extreme and the "government is the answer to everything" extreme are both pie in the sky notions. That's the negotiation. Ha! Does that happen anymore?

 

Libertarianism isn’t happening simply because way too many millions have a vested interest in not leaving other people alone.

And, of course, there’s the fact that it’s completely unworkable

 

3 years after WWII I can see why this would have been put together. However, the best scenario is a balanced approach between the private and public sectors with them trying to work together. Government doesn't produce anything, and the private sector cannot be left completely alone to do whatever it wants at the expense of people and the environment. As with most things, balance is the key.

Yeah, you just have to find the balance between polluted water and clean water, and industry and the government get to decide how much poison you can safely ingest after taking lots of money from the industry. The perfect system!
