It's impossible to prove a negative although considering that the Trump Administration, the right-wing media and now multiple House committees have been investigating Hunter Biden at least back to 2018 with the aim of finding that Hunter funneled bribes to Joe the probability is rather small that there is evidence that Joe Biden received payments from Hunter's buddies to influence policy. While it's not absolutely impossible that credible tangible evidence linking Joe Biden to bribes through Hunter that probability is roughly equivalent to winning a MegaMillions or Power Ball lottery. James Comer and the boys were absolutely certain that Devon Archer would provide the evidence and his testimony backfired.
Key Witness Doesn’t Back Up G.O.P.’s Biggest Allegations on Bidens
It also suggested questionable judgment on the part of President Biden, who, according to Mr. Archer’s testimony, repeatedly allowed himself to be in the presence — either physically or by phone — of business associates of his son’s who were apparently seeking connections and influence inside the United States government. But the elder Mr. Biden never actually got involved, he told the panel. In particular, Mr. Archer debunked an anonymous, unverified allegation that Republicans have trumpeted for months that Mr. Biden, while vice president, and Hunter Biden each accepted a $5 million bribe from an official with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

You know you are exactly right. No direct benefit paid to him, just all his living expenses paid by family members but no direct benefit.

I read that. They also said the fascist acceptable term for Biden Zombies is now “Comatose Commies”. I think the author is very creative all around. I especially like the term they came up with for us Libertarians: “Constitutional Patriots”. It just rolls off the lips.

I stopped reading at “..right wing media”. I don’t know what that is so I don’t feel qualified to read on unless I have context.

    what is that?

says a person who pops over hear 1x a month to pretend to be virtuous? You don’t know anything about my politics..and by anything I mean you don’t know jack shit. I don’t buy the persona you are trying to pass off to the masses.

I’ve been a proud libertarian for more than 20 years, you on the other hand have just been a liberal. You do you, and I’ll do me.

I don't know "jack shit", huh. I know enough. I don't post on Too Hot everyday, but I'm here reading everyday and moderating when necessary. You are free to question my persona. I admit I question yours due to some of your posts and where you might have spent your online time the past 5 years. Your posting tells me all I need to know about your politics.

And I do remember some things about you from your previous period of posting on GC about 8 or 10 years ago. I remember you were contemplating installing an outside pizza oven in the backyard of your suburban Chicago home. Did you ever do that? Where did you live? We endured 2 winters and 2 summers in Highland Park back in '74 and '75 before moving back east to Connecticut.

Though my long term memory is blessedly intact, more recently I have suffered losses in my short term memory due to 2 raging infections from sepsis that almost cost me my life. But I will tell you this about myself. When we left Connecticut we moved to Suburban Atlanta. I was a Republican precinct representative and an alternate to the national convention. All this while Gingrich was in power. My first vote for president went to Gerald Ford and I voted Republican in every presidential election until 2020. Yes, I made the grave and regrettable mistake of voting for Donald Trump, though at the time I considered it more a vote against Hillary. Even so I remained a member of the GOP until we moved to Colorado in December, 2018, at which time I registered no affiliation.

I went through a spiritual awakening 15 years ago under the direction of a Catholic nun, Sister Elizabeth Hillman. A wiser woman never lived and I am much indebted to her guidance. I went to her intially with the intent of learning how to live an authentic life. I don't say that lightly and I strive daily to do that. I am weak and I have failures. But what you and any other person reads under my username on these forums is who I am.

I detest what has become of the Republican Party, shanghaied and stolen as it was by Trump and his minions. It is not the party of conservative thinking as it once was. And its disintegration will be a major force in the destruction of a once noble democratic republic if people don't come to their senses.

Am I a liberal? No, I do not consider myself a liberal. I consider myself a reasonable person who weighs the issues and casts votes for reasonable people.

That sounds awesome, but you still know jack about my politics. You can’t get any real global flavor of me by reading my posts. A large number of my posts are either defending an unpopular position because I enjoy it, or defending an unpopular poster…because I enjoy it. Am I conservative? Hell yes. Am I liberal? Never. But…..will I fight with all I have to make sure you can be a liberal? Yep! If I could snap my finger and get rid of 90% of the government, would I? For sure. Do I believe in gay marriage, LGBTQ whatever, abortion, birth control, queer tacos, etc? No! Instead I believe in individual liberty and I don’t think the govt should have any say in any of it. I don’t think people should have to get permission from the govt to get married to any one or more people, have kids, dress as a monkey, make health decisions, etc. If you want to marry a goat, then go for it. If you want sell you body for money, that’s your right. If you want to worship aliens, then may the force be with you. I could write a book…oh wait.

So you can read my posts all you want, but don’t think you know me because of the arguments I make on a message board. I have not voted for Trump, but I do not detest him. I am a Red White and Blue to my core, but not for the Government….for the freedom.

To respond to the rest of your post, you have a great memory. I never got around to the pizza oven. I got too busy with life, and too close to death. My wife was born and raised in Deerfield where my daughter currently resides as a Chemical Engineer doing environmental clean up. We lived in Vernon Hills for a short time then built a home in St Charles. We raised our family there.

Defender of unpopular posters and unpopular positions. I don't question that, it can be a noble pursuit. However, your choice of those whom you choose to defend in this Hot circle is questionable, imo. It's most certainly an indicator of your own political and social preferences[biases ?]. Not to fault you; we all have them. I show one of my own in my objection to your defense of several posters who are among the worst in lowering the tenor of the board for their offensive insults. In my opinion. And ironically, they are among the more popular in the Forum's right wing circle. That aside, what makes these "unpopular posters" you defend worthy of your defense? Why do you enjoy defending them?

[[[Yes, moderators are permitted to express their opinions. We are volunteers and at liberty to speak them on the forums. Gator Country does not prohibit our right to do so. ]]]

You ostensibly support equal rights for liberals to live their lives as they choose, yet have repeatedly stooped to insult some of them and thwart their opinions, time and time again on the forum's threads. Even on some of the same threads you apparently defend unpopular posters. And you enjoy doing this? Why? Rather than offensively insult liberals on this forum as you have, why not engage in reasonable productive dialogue instead?

There are things I can agree with, and just as much or more I disagree with in the previous paragraph. But for the better part I've no interest in rehashing any of it. What's the point? I've better ways to spend my time than arguing politics on the Internet. My interest is finding harmony, not rehashing issues.

I challenged you with these questions not to pick on you, but because I think perhaps you may be open to considering them thru the perceptual prism of others who view things differently. I think perhaps what you discover within yourself could be of benefit to many others on this board.

you can’t pick on me. As I have said before, the message board is entertainment…nothing more. I am not here to run for political office, I have zero need for affirmation and I am 100 comfortable in my skin. You ask why do I defend the unpopular position? Simple: to promote robust debate. On abortion for example I will always hammer the sad position the left takes to justify its position, especially a “woman’s right to choose”. It is so hypocritical and wrong. Women have no greater right to that baby than the father. I also believe life begins at conception, but my beliefs are irrelevant. I, both individually and collectively (as government) have no say in what people do with their bodies, and I don’t care. Abortion, however, is as close as I get to tossing individual liberty in exchange for government prohibition because of the life that is lost. My position on this causes me turmoil. For the same reasons I am adamantly opposed to the mask mandates. When I see pro abortion people promoting mask mandates, this is why I go after abortion proponents.

Why primary conservative positions. One, I’m conservative, but two because the vast majority of posters on this forum are liberal, so statistically speaking I am going to take the side of the quieter voice. I have on occasion defended/ agreed with a more liberal position.

I absolutely hope all the moderators post their opinions on here. I have never seen anyone, including me, question that right. But you crossed the line last night by posting (or suggesting) that a member was responsible for reporting other members. You shared moderator information you are privy to because you were angry or annoyed. I will defend that poster, regardless of their political affiliation. Do your actions really matter at the end of the day….. not really.

    Have a Great Day.
