    Tough schedule.
Speaking of tough, UF must get to beating SEC East opponents regularly, especially those not in Athens.

Absolutely. But that will be the latter stages of restoring the program. We're still working on the foundation. Unfortunately, we had a deep hole where it was.

Agreed, need to get some monkeys off our backs as we lay the groundwork to compete with the Georgia's and Bama's. After 30 years of ownership, KY has our game circled on their calendar every year. It is time we treated that the same way. We can't take them for granted any more.

Of course you can share the fact that "the honeymoon is over".
And if we lose to Mizzou on the road you will see just how true that is.
We have lost 6 of the last 7 SEC road games and if we now lose to Misery
after beating Tennessee that will be totally inexcusable and a real problem.
Having written this...I can actually see this happening.
Then, if we miss a bowl game or lose to an inferior opponent the hot seat will get hotter.

Pretty simplistic take: win all the home games, lose all the road games.

Be more like losing 1 home game and winning 2 of 4 out of Utes, puKE, USC and Mizzu

We won't lose all of those road games. Get your anxiety under control so you won't feel inexcusable.

This would be the 3rd loss in-a-row if we lose to Kentucky...yet again.
They have one of the best QB's in the nation and a Top 15 defense according to ESPN.
S Carolina also has an experienced SEC QB and the #1 Special Teams in the entire nation.
There's a reason the AP poll has both S Carolina & Kentucky ahead of us and it's not good.
Mizzou also has a talented QB and the most returning experience of any SEC team this year.
Drinkalot is smart and nearly beat Georgia at home a year ago as well...so anything can happen.

Our improved defense will take care of those QBs....

Kentucky’s quarterback is one of the best in the nation? Like how high would you rank in third fourth fifth?

No matter how many times it's written, claimed, wished, projected, whatever by some . . . Coach Napier has NO hot seat this year. Also, I'm pretty sure his SEC road record last year, his first and only year coaching Florida, was 1-2.

These gloom and doom guys jumping the gun after one year are worse than ridiculous.

I can't argue with any projections that have us near the bottom if the SEC for now.

When we have been our best over the years we have had a defined identity. 80s was defense and running game. 90s was Spurriers fun n' gun and confidence. Meyer brought the spread, special teams and defense.

I have no doubt we will return our defense to prior standards eventually and we have a much needed infusion of talent but our offense is unknown at this time. I'm hopeful and optimistic that Mertz will thrive in a more functional offense than he had at Wisconsin but we won't know what we have until we see it. Tight end is unknown and underwhelming right now too. I'm guessing recieving will be greatly improved and our running backs are our strength but their production will be dependent on the offensive line meshing and again, Mertz.

I can't wait to see Napier build this thing but for now there are so many unknowns.
