You will be fine as you know. Most likely rest will be all you need and Tylenol/ibuprofen if you want. But you know that. Hope you feel better soon!
How religious have you been with the vaccines and boosters? It's not every day I see someone that's been diagnosed on 3 separate occasions.
I got one vaccine during Delta after multiple acquaintances of mine passed. People who were anywhere from their mid 30s, 40s to elderly. A couple relatively healthy but most who while not in the best health would have likely lived several more years if not for covid. I contracted it 3 times because of my job. Every time it spikes we get exposed either through ignorance(people calling 911 for covid but no acute symptoms) or because of nursing homes transferring patients out to the hospital. I'm surprised it took this long for my 3rd round because the nursing homes have been packed with covid for about a month now.
So one vaccine and the first two rounds of the virus were effectively your boosters? Did you see any benefits in terms of milder symptoms the 3rd round, since you’d already had it twice?
For me it's been the opposite. The first time I got covid I only knew because 2 other crew members came down with moderate to severe symptoms. Both extremely fit guys in their 30s and 40s. They Avoided the hospital but had lingering wheezing and fatigue for several weeks. 3 other members were hospitalized with it aged from 20s to 40s. I had a headache and just felt off but chalked it up to drinking on a boat all day the day before. This was during the first wave. Around mid summer during the Delta wave we lost a number of people close to us. A paramedic died from it with his sister who was a teacher dying the very next day from it as well. Not the healthiest people but 2 middle aged people still actively working aren't expected to die from what people were calling a flu at that time. My friends dad died with no Comorbidities other than age after over a month long battle with it. Left the hospital and died 3 days letter from cardiac arrest. Lost 3 local cops due to Delta. I lost a former highschool class mate in her low 40s and my wife lost one in her mid 30s. There were a few others in the area I knew of but not personally. I never worried about myself since my symptoms were so minimal but I received a Vax for my parents and patients sake. I then worked around hundreds and thousands of people with covid while administering antibodies in Jacksonville and Orlando. Never got it during that time but have now contracted it 2 times since with worse symptoms but for only 2 days or so plus some lingering issues. I respected the randomness of it for the first year and a half or so. I always felt the government mishandled it but mostly due to the novelty and unknown about it. My personal stance from the beginning was to protect high risk and elderly and I was always against shut downs. Just didn't see it as a sustainable measure one time let alone when another outbreak happened. Thought masks were fine if proper ones were worn and worn properly but I do agree that it turned into virtue signaling more than anything else. In the end I believe politicians felt the need to "do something" and mishandled it from the beginning out of panic and the whole thing snowballed into a political mess from both sides. I remain pretty neutral about it although the far right seems to have suffered more harm as an electorate as hate peddlers on various social media sites are making money stirring the conspiracy theories and turning people more and more extreme and vitriolic.
You have definitely been through and seen a lot more than most people have, that is for sure. It’s a nasty virus. I was fully vaxxed and caught the omicron right at the peak of the surge over new years weekend. I was at a party and literally knew there was no way I wasn’t coming home without Covid. Perhaps looking back, I’d redo that. I’m relatively healthy and in good physical shape. It put me on my ass for two solid weeks and I wasn’t the same for 5 or 6 more weeks. The beef I carry away from it all is not the awareness or even panic over the virus. It was the mandated masking and to a much greater extent, the vaccinations that were mandated. I know a couple of guys who lost their jobs due to not vaxxin up. The beef stems from mandating an injection for something that clearly did not work as advertised. Even if it blunted some of the effect (which is debatable I don’t care what data they show me), that people were forced and coerced into taking a jab of something that really didn’t help the overall population much, is a tragedy in of itself.
Fantastic Post!!!!! While we certainly would disagree on some things we would agree on far more than we disagree with. And to switch topics slightly…that is Medicine. Which we did not follow. We went a one size fits all approach “politically”. It has caused so much damage. The cdc is a joke now sadly.
Question pertains to most posters … When the marching orders were rescinded you stopped marching. At least for the most part. Some of you are still testing when you get sniffles. If the marching orders are reinstated, will you resume marching ? Article … “As unpleasant as it is to consider, this inability is the norm, even for people who are otherwise intelligent and/or educated. Like hamsters on a wheel, they’re under the impression that they’re in forward motion, but in truth, they won’t move an inch forward until they receive controlled input instructing them to do so.” Why the Covid Delusion Continues - LewRockwell
My middle ended up with a fever and bad sore throat yesterday evening. Had to kick the fever again in the middle of the night. I was almost certain it was not strep as I had intel from her school (know multiple kids were out one with same symptoms and not strep). But we decided to take her in to test it knowing we could treat strep at least and did not want to miss the chance if it was. It was not. And no…we did not test for anything else. No need.
Glad she’s okay. But IMO there’s no need to test for anything. A positive strep means they’ve found a particular bacteria which itself is not the source of any illness.
Don’t you find it an amazing coincidence that a certain bacteria shows up only when a person has certain symptoms?

Anyone taking the next shot should really take it in their skull. It’s the part that needs the most protection.
