I think some of these guys will be upgraded to 4 or 5*s by the time this season is played out. I see 6 to 10 players will improve their ranking.

Yes the 2010 class had its heavy hitters on the D side. Wasn't many highly rated offensive players (that made a difference anyhow ) that I remember off the top of my head. This class , one of the 5 stars is at the most important position on offense (QB) and one at the weakest position from last year on defense. (Safety) and 3 of the top 8 linebackers in the nation 4 if you count Waller as a backer.

Well I can’t wait to see what positive press brings us. Because we don’t get much.

It is sad to see how much the habits of the MSM bleeds over to our sport outlets.
It seems that when certain sportswriters are granted control of the pen...that power has a strong tendency to corrupt their reporting.
Sadly, all of us have seen this happening for decades against our Gators.
They will write anything to keep the Beast from rising to the top and fulfilling the words that Bear Bryant spoke about Florida years ago.

Agreed. The sweet spot is a 92+ average player rating or 7 or above class ranking depending on the size of the class in order to build a championship roster.

Also, maybe it's just that optimistic time of year but I'm eager to see how this season goes. I'm more concerned about the o line than QB, but if they're solid and Mertz can limit the turnovers and have a 60% or better completion percentage, and the defense ends up ranked in the 50s or better we could be a surprisingly good team this year.

Unless you're Georgia, in which case Chad Simmons will give you all the positive press until you finally start winning.

My biggest concern is the OL. I think we're weak on the right side and don't think our TEs will provide much help to slow down good DL's.

The Safety room is right behind the OL on my concern list.

Get solid play from both units and your optimism will turn into reality.

Now lets go get Seaton (92), Mincey (93) and LJ (96) and get that average over 92.

I may be a little more optimistic about the OL than I was a couple of weeks ago. With some injuries apparently healing up well, we could see some things solidify nicely along the front, sooner rather than later. Safeties remain an unknowable for the first few games, IMO. Right now, we've got more questions than answers in that particular room.

That’s a good goal but I wouldn’t call that good. Maybe an average sec team.

Can somebody help me understand the class rankings on 247. If you look at Noles it says they have 3@5*, 12@4*, and 3@3* but if you actually look down their listing of individual players they actually have 2@5*, 6@4*, and 13@3*. Ours is even off by a couple on the diff in 3 or 4 stars. I know they have composite averages etc blah blah but what am I missing? Are they not changing it as guys ratings change?

Please, for the love of god and all things holy, can we please, I'm begging, run a few RB screens... I want to see ETN in the broken field with the ball. I'm not asking for much.

The star rankings on the "team rankings" page are based on the composite. When you click on the team (FSU for example) you see only the 247 rankings for each player. In FSU's case, Lester is a composite 5 star but only a 4 star by 247. That's where the disparity comes from.

All it takes is a qb that thrives on the first ten yards and delivers the ball in less than two seconds.

I just think it’s a great way to slow down the pressure on the QB. I think teams are going to have to account for our RBs on every snap.
