Just 21% of Republicans believe Biden won his election fair and square, while 68% say he won "due to voter fraud."

Almost a third of Americans still believe the 2020 election result was fraudulent

Totalitarianism is a system of government that exerts complete control over the political process and the people. It has nothing to do with whether or not some sports organizations allow trans men to compete against women.

I agree that the nature of society’s views on transgenderism in sports is irrelevant for the topic, but I think that if government mandated transgender people either to play or not play in particular leagues, it would represent a more totalitarian stance than letting the leagues govern themselves. However, this does not seem to be argument being made.

It just seems absurd to me that any totalitarian system would accommodate that kind of individualism to such a degree. People experimenting with gender identity is a product of our libertarianism when it comes to personal choices, seems to be the authoritarian types that are the ones pushing back for whatever reason. Totalitarian systems generally want to subsume everyone into one overarching identity, so unless everyone is trans above all else, I'm not sure trans totalitarianism is in the cards.

Thanks for posting the link. I noticed that the link did not contain the actual Poll questions, but rather a summary of the alleged numbers. (Not your fault). I just did a quick Google search out of curiosity, and was not able to find the polling questions on any of these polls that make this assertion. I don’t care about somebody’s summary of what the pool says, I want to see the polling questions. if you, or somebody else has the actual polling questions via a link, I would love to see them.

I know a lot of people that talk politics with me. Probably a 50-50 split of conservatives and liberals. In the 40 to 50 people that I have talked to on the subject of the election, I have not met a single person that has claimed that the election was stolen. Statistically speaking, that is not possible, if your poll is true.

on the other hand, almost everyone that I speak to, and there are very few exceptions to this, believe that the last four or five Presidential elections have been mired in “mistakes” and suspicious activities. The consensus is many state and federal elections “smell bad.” I have never met anyone, and I doubt anyone on this message board would disagree with me, that doesn’t want a better and more secure voting system in this country. We may not agree how to get there, but everybody recognizes there are problems that can and should be fixed.

I wish we could get a bunch of Moderates in a room together to come up with a national standard for all state and federal elections. Wishful thinking.

There was a link within the link that I think answers your question. Notably, at least with this poll, the numbers have been pretty consistent back to November 2020.

Just clicking on a couple of links from the story reveals that the question in the poll was:

Do you believe Joe Biden won the 2020 election fair and square or do you believe that he only won it due to voter fraud?

To this question 68% of Republicans answered 'Due to voter fraud'.

This is why I don’t trust the liberal media.
I don’t know a single person who thinks the election was fraudulent.

that is what I thought. That is a stupid and ridiculous dichotomy. A “do you still beat your wife” type question. A large number of people, dare I say the majority, find themselves in between those two points. That question is not an either or question. Joe Biden could have won the election while simultaneously not being fair and square.

a fairer inquiry would be split into 3 questions.

First. Did Joe Biden win the 2020 election?
Second: Did voter fraud occur in the 2020 election?
Third: Did third parties or local government entities engage in election interference in the 2020 election?

my guess is if the pollsters asked those three questions you would get a vast majority answering yes on all three.

anyone who claims there was not election fraud or election interference in the 2020 election is either a hyper partisan with their head stuck up their butt, or is clueless. But there has been election interference and election fraud pretty routinely in every National election in the last 40 years. The real question is did the bad conduct result in a change in the election. Probably not, but how do we really know. Even the honest media pundits agree it occurred but likely had no actually impact on any final outcomes.

with that said, the fact that a single person cancels my vote by fraud pisses me off. We can’t and shouldn’t just accept shitty elections. We are the F’n United States of America. We can do better.

Obviously I cannot speak for you but unless the mainstream media outlets have hired actors I have seen several interviews of Republicans/Trump supporters who are absolutely convinced that the election was stolen from the Donald. The same folks are also absolutely convinced that Joe Biden has weaponized the government against their poor innocent leader and some of them even think that Old Joe and the Dems have implemented a scheme forcing Trump to spend his campaign warchest on his legal defense leaving little cash left for other campaign expenditures. Kind of amazing that on hand Biden is suffering from dementia while on the other hand he is playing three dimensional chess.

Trump has repeatedly contended that the election was stolen from him and was the result of fraud and crimes committed during the election. Trump has a huge lead in the GOP primary polls, so I don't think it should be surprising if many millions of Americans agree with what Trump has been claiming, though I suppose it's possible they think he's lying about the election and support him anyway.

Is that the same Hillary and Gore that formally conceded that they lost their presidential elections, the same Al Gore who as Vice President presided over the certification of his own defeat in the presidential election?
