Hopefully Trump serves time and is out of the political spotlight forever. But unfortunately I don't think that happens.

Anyway, the law is the law. Are you saying that enforcing the law is a left-wing conspiracy? While that certainly comports with conservatives' comprehensive rejection of law and order, it's not real.

What if the tables were turned?

Hmmmm....let's see:

*Senator Al Franken was reported to have made one inappropriate gesture to woman on a USO tour overseas many years before he ran for his Senate seat (and the GOP paid her to lodge this complaint when they discovered it, because she had never mentioned it because it did not bother her that a friend and colleague made a silly joke once while flying over the desert for him to serve their country by entertaining the US troops for the 8 millionth time), and the Democrats told him to resign. And he did.

*Representative Katie Hill was the victim of revenge porn from a spurned former lover, and the Democrats told her to resign just because of the scandal, even though she did nothing wrong. She did.

*Representative Anthony Weiner sent a d***-pic over text, nothing illegal about it, and the Democrats told him to resign simply for demeaning the office. He did.

*Representative John Conyers faced allegations of sexual harassment, and the Democrats told him to resign, even with over half a century in office. And he did.

*Representative Elizabeth Esty was discovered to have covered up sexual harassment charges against her Chief of Staff. This was during a reelection run. The Democrats told her to retire and not run for reelection. She did.

*Representative Ruben Kihuen was accused of 2 former associates of unwanted sexual advances. He has a freshman Congressman and announced that he would not resign, and would fight the charges. The DNC then told him to resign. He did.

*John Edwards was no longer in office or an active politician when it was discovered that he had an extra-marital affair while in office. There was nothing to resign from, but Democrats roundly and unanimously condemned him for it, and they did again when he was charged with campaign finance crimes a few years later.


When Democrats break the law, other Democrats force them to resign or they throw them out of the party. When republicans commit crimes, other republicans start screaming Whataboutisms and double their support for their criminals.

Prove me wrong.

The entire world knew that he would be indicted for election interference (at the very least) the NANOSECOND the recording of the phone call was released. You know, the one where he told the GA Sec of State to go find him exactly the number of votes he needed to be declared the winner?

The only surprise was that it took this long. But the reason it did is made clear in the indictment (have you read it?). This conspiracy to topple the US government and steal a presidential election was a multi-state crime spree. Almost 20 indicted, and more to come.

Read the indictment. It's all in there. Nobody with any vague sense of reality could ever question why this indictment HAD to be made, after reading it.

Once again, I post a legion of facts that disprove your every accusation, and you respond with a snarky one-liner, without a single comment that would suggest that anything I posted isn't correct.

If you dispute what I posted, please counter it with facts. If you can't dispute it, you have to ask yourself why you continue to hold completely debunked opinions and positions on issues.

Obviously, Trump is going to walk in and walk out of Fulton County, but maybe his ordeal will shed some light on what other Defendants go through before getting their right to a trial.

When it was built in the 1980s, the jail was "state of the art", said Dr Edmond, the attorney. "But it is no longer. That jail needs to be demolished and the citizens of Fulton County need to dig deep and pay the tax dollars to build a brand new jail."

The Fulton County Sheriff's Office itself has acknowledged conditions at the building are "dilapidated and rapidly eroding". It has also called for the construction of a new $1.7bn jail.

"There's been a lot of talk of cleaning it up," said Ms McClure of the ACLU. "We have not really seen or heard anything particularly significant. It seems like a lot of posturing."

Ms McClure said a number of factors have led to overcrowding in the Fulton County Jail system. For one, people charged with misdemeanours in the county are arrested and taken into custody, unlike some other Georgia jurisdictions, where defendants are generally released and given a future court date for minor offences, she said.

 

Another example of the REAL 2-tiered justice system that Trump keeps crying about, but has benefitted from his whole criminal life.
