By: Andrew Spivey -- August 14, 2023 The Florida Gators picked up big news on Monday morning when they landed an out-of-state prospect. Defensive back Wardell Mack commits to the Florida Gators over Texas | GatorCountry.com
The kid would be rated higher if he wasn’t playing both ways. I can only imagine what this kid is going to turn into once he just trains one side of the ball.
No recruit is fully "committed" until he signs his LOI . UF will battle to the end for ALL recruits. Other schools will continue to recruit DJ et al.
He has stated that he's taking other visits, but I know what you mean. Texas will offer a pile of cash, that's hard for these young people to say "no" to that.
I’m not sure a recruit is fully committed even after they arrive on campus these days. Signing the LOI definitely doesn’t mean what it used to. All you have to do is request to be released. We released multiple kids from their LOI just in the last year or so.
I'm not convinced that any program is outbidding the Gators. Texas has plenty to offer without handing out money but if he visited Austin and still chose the Gators, I'm not too worried. We just need to get him in the stadium for a home game.
Not excited about seeing the threads of our commits pop back up to show they are now looking elsewher
Yep. Committed used to mean something but doesn’t anymore. Now apparently “shut down” doesn’t mean anything either
