Not wishful thinking because to be honest I don't care if he's guilty or not. I'm just sitting back with a bag of popcorn watching both sides run the Titanic into the iceberg. My mistake was simply not knowing the procedural gyrations for a mistrial versus a dismissal. I thought procedural crap was usually the culprit in that sort of thing. Too many TV shows I guess.
Why is it grounds for a mistrial? The grand jury was already considering the charges when the list dropped, so how could they have been influenced by a web leak of something they already had in front of them? What's prejudicial about that? And they ultimately indicted Trump on every charge so there are no remaining charges upon which an indictment wasn't brought, and it's not as if any actual evidence was leaked, so any potential juror who happened to see the charges on the web site can't seem to have been prejudiced by it. Seems an unfortunate distraction to me. Although I'm sure the defense lawyers will jump all over it as if it were substantively significant.
After his attempted coup d'état of January 6th failed Trump really had no alternative. If he refused to voluntary leave the White House he would have been forcibly escorted out of the residence by the Secret Service.
I'm so glad to see these grand juries doing their jobs and indicting these criminals, no matter how powerful they are. America is working the right way again under Biden.
Let’s not forget: 5. trump to Raffensburger - “You could just say you recalculated.” This is trump knowing he lost the vote in Ga and that what he was asking the SOS to do was illegal for the SOS to do so he was suggesting an excuse/defense that Raffensburger could use.
What part of the call is that in? Do you have a minute:second marker for that? I'm not saying he didn't say it, but even if he did, that would not prove he knew he lost the race. If you listen to the entire call, it's very clear he believes he won the election. Nobody is testifying that he didn't believe he won.
They are actually. He made several comments to WH officials indicating he knew he lost. Just not on that call.
I remember something about that it might have created a real crisis for the Secret Service given that they are still charged with protecting presidents for 10 years after office. Basically would have pitted those agents assigned to protect him against those who might have been tasked with forcibly removing him. Then again, I tend to think it wouldn't have been a crisis within the Secret Service, that it was more worry speculating than anything else.
They can protect him and remove him from the wh at the same time. Once Biden took the oath, he was potus and orange guy was ex potus and would have been a squatter in the wh, not a good look.
I’m getting a chub just thinking about the epic meltdown that would occur if Trump won next year. If you thought 2016 was a “meltdown”, people will be slitting their wrists on live stream and TV. It’ll be magical.
Nope I don’t like Biden and I am conservative but Trump winning doesn’t mean excite me at all. We need new leadership across the board .From both sides
I assume somebody posted Trumps Truth social post were he is going to give his complete report next Monday at a press conference that provides irrefutable evidence of election fraud in Georgia. He used lots of bold words. Seems very hinged.
