I wonder if he's still going to rely on claims about widespread fraud with the counting and tons of dead people voting. Or maybe they've prepped him with very specific lies to say about Dominion so he can catch himself another civil suit and provide even more evidence in his criminal cases. I suspect we're more likely to see complaining about Hunter Biden, the media, and maybe even criticism of the amendments to election laws in some places.

The (admittedly left) Media Matters takes a look at why Trump believed (if he really did) that the election was stolen and that his people could and would uncover the 'truth' about it. A good bit may simply be that he is a truly disturbed person who simply cannot process the fact that the American voters rejected him and chose Biden. But as MM points out, it was well-known that Trump watched hours of Fox and probably a couple of other rightwing outlets every day. And they kept spouting the claim over and over that the fraud was real. As someone else asked, I wonder how far they can get with what he believed if he doesn't take the stand? Also, I recall Barr talking about how Bannon said they were going to claim it was rigged if he didn't win, and that was before the election. That's also consistent with what Trump was saying publicly (that's the only way he could lose). I think I heard last night that the Georgia allegations include that the campaign began drafting documents alleging fraud beforehand as well. We'll see if they can establish Trump was aware of any specific documents being drafted, but all of that would suggest they were going to make accusations about widespread fraud and rigging regardless of the facts on the ground.
Is still don't see how that's a winning argument with jurors. They'd have to believe that Trump was too dumb or dense to understand that he lost while at the same time being responsible for running the United States as President.
In general, Trump’s best chances in these trials is for a MAGA guy to slip through and get onto the jury.
That and dragging it all out until after the election in the hope that Trump or some other gop potus will make it all go away. Even if the Georgia case stands, are they really going to lock up a sitting potus if convicted ( if Trump wins the wh again)?

I am presuming that any Republican elected to President will issue blanket pardons on day one. The base will demand it. It's no longer just a Trump thing.
I don't see why not. Take a large jury pool and remove everyone from it that is registered to vote then go from there. Seems like a no brainer if you're seeking an impartial jury for an extremely high profile politician.
The list for state court jury pools in Florida comes from DHSMV....people with driver's licenses or state ID cards.
I stand corrected. My Google-fu says this went into effect in 1998. Am I right in thinking before that they used voter registration rolls?
