US Nat Gas to be Exported

    via floating LNG plants being built and based in Mexico.

    Not sure why, but I don't like it.

    New Fortress to start operations at Mexican floating LNG facility (msn.com)
    New Fortress, a US energy company, plans to commence operations at the first of three proposed floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants in Mexico next month, reported Reuters.

    New Fortress is working with Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), a Mexican Government power utility, to build the $1.3bn (32.3bn pesos) facility.

    On both the Gulf and Pacific coastlines of Mexico, nine onshore and floating LNG production facilities will be built, most of which will use gas from the US.

    In June this year, New Fortress secured a permit from the Mexican Ministry of Energy to export up to 7.8mt of LNG through to April 2028.

    I haven’t studied this recently, but at $10 mcf a year ago and declining back to $2, there might be more production with a fixed storage capacity concern over a long-time horizon.

    Surprised there isn’t a desire for keeping more in the US for blue hydrogen production. Maybe the economics are not ironed out yet or hasn’t found it’s way into the curves.

    blue hydrogen production is just beginning. There is a plant proposed in FLorida and others around the country. still waiting on FPL to drop their fuel surcharges from the last time gas spiked up. don't mind the exports, just wish they are from US ports employing US workers paying US taxes. I expect the price to increase gain once EU starts to fill their storage facilities for next winter
