If any of the rest of us said were coming after a prosecutor who had filed charges against us we would not be walking the streets, guaranteed. #specialtreatment.

non frivolous is not the same as meritorious. And
the attempted submission of fraudulent delegates is criminal fraud period. Not even debatable.

Per a quest on Lawrence O’Donnell love that guy). Agent Smith was more than likely going after Trumps DM’s to other coconspirators. Trump learned not to use email but given his kids and Kushners use of WhatsApp he more than likely using his pea sized brain thought they were undetectable.

    He’s so screwed…

this is rich. Trump calling out desi PAC for collaborating illegally, not long after he took $60M back from his PAC to pay for his legal biils (illegal) and rasied funds off of the election lie (illegal)

Targeting DeSantis, Trump team warns state parties that super PACs can't act as an arm of a campaign (msn.com)

Donald Trump's campaign is seeking to blunt the efforts of a super PAC supporting rival Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign by sending a letter to all state Republican parties on Thursday arguing that they cannot work with a super PAC as if it is representing a candidate.

David Warrington, an attorney for Trump's 2024 campaign, contends in the letter that a super PAC, which can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money, should not be allowed to undertake traditional campaign activities that directly benefit a candidate or “act as de facto campaign arms.”

That would be a risky move by Musk since Smith could already be in possession of some of Trump's Twitter DMs from the other party voluntarily disclosing them. That could be how Smith got probable cause to obtain any other Trump DMs. If Smith is in possession of a DM that Twitter failed to provide because Musk was trying to protect Trump then Musk would be in a world of trouble.

look upthread, Musk paid a $350k for the three days he refused to give up his DM's. Musk, like Trump, feels he is above law and contracts. I wouldn't put it past him to have helped Trump keep his privacy

Me might have, he makes some bone headed decisions but sounds like Agent smith might already have the deets from counter parties. Prosecutors like to tie everything down soup to nuts and he’ll be able to tell if anything is missing. If so big trouble for Musk.

The right question to ask is what did Smith have already that let someone authorize getting access to Trump's Twitter.

Does article 3 of the constitution make it illegal to put Trump on the ballot. A couple of federalist society law professors say it does

    MSN

Steven G. Calabresi, a law professor at Northwestern and Yale and a founder of the Federalist Society,” The Times adds, “called the article ‘a tour de force.'”
“Trump is ineligible to be on the ballot,” Professor Calabresi told The Times, “and each of the 50 state secretaries of state has an obligation to print ballots without his name on them.” Calabresi also “said…that they may be sued for refusing to do so.”
Former U.S. Appeals Court Judge J. Michael Luttig, a “star witness” during a televised hearing of the U.S. House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack, also praised the article. He says it “promises to be of monumental — and historic, if not also contemporary — importance to Constitutional Law

    Getting elected solves all.

it is interesting as this plays out. The GOP is staying on message. Trump has lawyers and campaign folks on every channel, every day. Putting out his spin and laying out a defense. Consistent rhetoric has been proven to change people’s minds.
I have long wondered why the media allows teams of defense lawyers to come on their shows and work to influence. They just can’t help themselves.
Throw in 3rd, 4th and 5th party narcissistic candidates and what do you have.
Meanwhile with fires burning, dems go straight to…….

He had the tweets. Subpoenaing Trump's account records from Twitter was likely done for more evidentiary concerns...to be able to authenticate them as coming from an IP address associated with Trump and/or posted by someone logged into his official account.

I think the article is a reach. I would think that he needs to be convicted of the charges of insurrection or participation in a rebellion before it has any legal import.

Biden has the deets on Trump’s conversations with Putin (the ones Trump ordered hidden). Be a shame if he declassified them….

Chutkan isn't messing around telling the defense team that the case will be tried in her court and not on the Internet.
