Buzz words. “Communist” is inaccurate. And “the Biden family.” Collected money. What is the crime? Good there is a special prosecutor.

He could be Trump's golfing buddy and it wouldn't change the fact that he's not qualified to serve as special counsel.

    1. federal judge in Delaware threw out the sweetheart Hunter plea deal Weiss concocted. That's how terrible it was.
    2. DOJ now seeking to remove Hunter case from Delaware
    3. as "special counsel", Congress can no longer compel Weiss to testify in their investigation
    4. "special counsel" is supposed to be from outside the government
    5. Weiss' familiarity with the case contradicts the "special counsel" status

You are cheering corruption at the highest level. I'm sorry you aren't a man.

    1. Wrong interpretation of the colloquy. 2. Wrong. They are looking at national jurisdiction. 3. Wrong. 4. Wrong. 5. Wrong.

How did I know that they wouldn’t be satisfied that the plea is off and Hunter is in danger of harsher punishment. You guys would complain over anything short of Giuliani being appointed Special Council, Special Master, District Attorney, presiding Judge, and Jury Foreman over the case.

So Congress can ask a special counsel to testify during their investigation? We need community notes.

Exactly my point in post 3. Thanks for illustrating it. Trumpers turn in anyone with integrity. Who aren’t loyal to the leader. I am sure that the Trumpers would know be happy with Jeffrey Clark, or Rudy, or Sydney Powell or or John Eastman or Kenneth Cheesboro, but those who still have their law licenses are busy trying to keep them or preparing to be indicted.

The rules are the same whether a special prosecutor or DOJ attorney or not. And the separation of powers questions and privilege issues are the same.

Weiss' appointment by Trump changes nothing about his ineligibility to serve as "special counsel." You can keep harping on Trump all you want. Weiss could have a Trump tattoo and it wouldn't change the illegality of appointing Weiss as special counsel.

So, you refuse to explain it in your own words? Correct?

In other words, what I said is accurate. Jordan won't be able to call on Weiss to testify until Weiss' investigation concludes. Why do you have to meander around the truth all the time?

Maybe in the end even Bill Barr decided that loyalty to the Constitution and the rule of law trumped loyalty to the guy who appointed him. Same with Mike Pence. Just a guess Weiss will most likely resign from his current position before his formal appointment as special counsel, in effect becoming an appointee from outside the DOJ.

I’m not refusing, I just don’t really care.

That said… as I understood from overhearing on the news playing in the background while I was working, they couldn’t come to an agreement and then the offer was pulled.

As I said earlier....you don't announce a plea deal with the POTUS' son and it not already be hammered out in stone. It was dismissed by a federal judge.

So was Trumps appointment of Durham was also illegal?

(It is not unprecedented, however. For example, Attorney General William P. Barr made John Durham, then the U.S. attorney for Connecticut, a special counsel to entrench him so he could continue to investigate the F.B.I.’s handling of the Russia inquiry even if Mr. Trump lost the election. Mr. Durham resigned as U.S. attorney in January 2021, but for several months he held both roles.)

It was not dismissed. The judge said she would not rubber stamp it on that particular day but didn’t dismiss the possibility of allowing with further investigation.
