Georgia OL Devin Willock, recruiting staffer die in car crash [Developments at #68 -- #283 -- #289]

It's part of one of the AJC stories . . . the one about the recruiting staffer being fired after she filed her lawsuit, I think.

An assistant coach gave the recruiting staffer his card and told her to go to an ATM and withdraw $1,000.00 for him.

They were at the establishment at the time.

After she tried and the card was declined 2-3 times, she gathered the $1,000.00 from her own money and took to him.

 

I must have missed that. Did they report which Asst. Coach?

 

Yes . . . I'm pretty sure he was named . . . but I don't recall it.

 

On second thought . . . I'm wrong. It was in the lawsuit itself she filed where I read that.

I was also wrong in that they hadn't yet gone to the adult establishment and were still at the dinner restaurant.

The coach was Uzo-Diribe.

 

$1K is a lot of twenties!

 

Yeah . . . like I wrote, they hadn't gone to the adult establishment yet so this particular coach could have been springing for dinner (a recruiting violation since it was unofficial?). Maybe he wanted to leave a big tip. Hard to imagine going to the restaurant without having enough to cover a massive bill or not just using your card to pay. We just know there was a pressing need for all those $20s . . . to be used somewhere.

 

Huh, it’s very interesting that it was him, he’s their new recruiting “wonder” assistant.

Yep. It would be nice to be a court-appointed Special Master (so with subpoena power) and 2-3 forensic accountants and go back to "audit" any of the last 3-years of the LegHumper recruiting expenditures, as claimed. LOL!

 

Here’s the part I don’t get — why have a young female staffer taking these young men to a titty bar, instead of any of dozens of assistant coaches and male staffers?? That sounds off right there

Georgia football coaching staff member Jarvis Jones was arrested on charges of reckless driving and speeding less than 24 hours before the two-time defending champion Bulldogs' season opener.

Jones, a former All-American linebacker at Georgia who played four seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is the Bulldogs' player connection coordinator under coach Kirby Smart. Athens-Clarke County Police arrested Jones, Friday night, on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and speeding-maximum limits.

One would think that drinking and driving would be discouraged in today's environment, but UGA encouraged it all in the name of RECRUITING.

I'm still waiting for the NCAA to look into why the 2 staffers were paying for 2 (then) current players' night on the town, that reeks of improper benefits

 

Kirby's eyeing that opening in Atlanta a little closer.
