Former Florida QB, Jalen Kitna, breaks silence following child porn case "Knowing the accusations levied against me as a teenager were not accurate and would be proven to be not true. The extensive 6 month long investigation brought the prosecution to the conclusion I knew all along — this was not a child pornography case.” "They told me an image I shared online was potentially of an underage female,” Kitna explained. “I was shocked, because I had found it on an easily accessible, legal site, and I was never looking for illegal material.” “The photo included only a portion of the female body, I had no reason to believe the photo might be illegal. Regardless, they arrested me on suspicion of possessing child pornography. As they put me in handcuffs I tried to process everything. It sounded like they believed I searched out and shared illegal pictures, but I knew that I had not,” he added.
Such a sad situation for Jalen. I do not believe he intentionally did anything wrong and his life has been ruined. I really hope he can get back to a normal life.
That makes more sense. I know you can’t ever say anything good about porn, but it sure seems like he got steamrolled by the media and everybody searching for a platform upon which to virtue signal. Guilty till proven innocent, and unfortunately likely still guilty.
Best case scenario for him, he somehow gets another shot at college and playing football. Everywhere he goes he will be judged. There will be dirty looks, mumbling, and cold shoulders for the rest of his life. Still better than prison. His best bet is to keep a small circle who believe his side of the story and grow thick skin.
Glad Jalen gets to start again with a clean slate. I had a strong suspicion that there was more drama than substance to this. Of course, many will say his family bought him out of trouble. Once this stink gets stirred the smell lingers. And there are those who always envision the worst.
Although we locked the other Kitna threads . . . I think this one needs leaving open so everyone can comment. I'm glad things worked out for him legally and he's being aggressive in declaring his innocence. I was about to criticize the prosecutor for making him plea (a no contest plea NOT a guilty plea) to anything but I don't want this to venture into politics and hope we can discuss Kitna and his future. Again, I wish him well.
I would pay money to know the full truth. (Not a lot of money but a few bucks.) I don't know who to believe- but I hate to think the GPD is handcuffing people and ruining lives over something minor. (IF IT WAS MINOR.)
"He will have an opportunity to prove his innocence." That quote by one leader in the USA actually applies to the GPD.
In today's climate, I can see an agency over reacting to the detriment of Kitna. A lot of times, all it takes is a suggestion of something bad to have everyone up in arms and calling for someone's head.
I thought he got charged before anyone even knew his identity. I don’t think the media had anything to do with this.
I am going to withhold judgement. I always wonder about these things when charges get dropped. The me too movement exposed a bunch of scumbags but I am sure an innocent person or two got caught but many more guilty got away with it. I think it’s similar with crimes against children.
