If it bleeds it leads. Getting local news from tv is going to only get you grisly stories. When we had print journalism you could get some real news but alas that is over.

My neighborhood had zero crime this week. However last week there was a dust up at the pool when a 17 year old drove his families golf cart into the zero depth pool after hours and was confronted by HOA members who installed video this year. It's been a very divisive week as the mom of the golf cart warrior has correctly pointed out the posted rules do not preclude one from driving a golf cart in the pool. Check CNN for updates.

Its not, its actually a pretty cool place to spend some time. Its like judging Chicago based on parts of the South Side.

 

Ultimately to me, this seems like a story about how cops are admitting they can't do anything about crime. If people think deterrence like bars and bullhorns is laughable, we should be laughing at the cops too, same concept at work. Of course we wont, and they will probably just ask for more money to keep doing nothing.

 

What stops crime from making all of America look like Escape from New York?

 

In that movie didn't they just make NYC one big prison for all the worst people? Doesn't sound like a very progressive approach to crime, kind of the conservative approach if you ask me. So we are on track for that outcome given this country's approach to crime. Just sit tight.
