He was asking did we consider the impact of the decisions made regarding football on the student-athletes, particularly in the non-revenue generating sports.
These students travel differently than football players and it takes a greater toll on them and their families, e.g. arriving home at 3:00 or 4:00 a.m. in the morning and having to get up and go to class; fatigue and exhaustion, which he noted is the number one cause of mental health issues.

He pointed out that there's no revenue sharing with the athletes and that they're on the own with NIL.

So essentially he was saying these decisions made for football have a more negative impact on the other student athletes and they weren't very well considered.

    In my head--- UF
The discussion of where FSU may go has morphed into
“ let’s invite north carolina, and Virginia into the SEC!!”

    no

two universities will be joining next year. That’s enough.

I see your point but I think if UVA and UNC hit th market, the Big 10 is going to make an offer to both. Do you see a scenario where the SEC is looking to expand but the Big 10 is not?

ACC should have been all over that before the mass exodus.

Independent is a better option instead of losing money traveling.

Is it though? Going indie means no conference money at all.

Well, they just gotta negotiate independently and don’t have to share.

The main reason they didn't go to 9 games for next year is because ESPN wouldn't pay more. Why would they go to 9 games with two more mouths to feed if ESPN still has the same stance?

I hate that its come to this but the TV market is already over-saturated with what used to be college football. Its obvious that the only way to get a bump in TV money now is to scavenge off someone else's plate.

ESPN is laying off significant staff, as is Disney. Huge cutbacks. ESPN is losing money. Streaming services, except for Netflix, for the most part are losing money and simply trying to capture market share and subscribers. Most ofc the streaming services are losing subscribers quarter to quarter. There will come a time when sports leagues can’t count of tv and streaming services for increases in contracts. That time may have come for some conferences. PAC 10 could not command a contract of significance. Likely just the beginning.
