You do make a good point. But if you watch that last match US appeared to have the better opportunities, possession even without some of our players.
Sometimes the better team doesn’t win.

Sweden is a far more liberal country, so I guess the US team got beat by the more "woke" team.

No it wasn't that bad. below are the odds going into the world cup. US had the best odds at the start, but overall the field was expected to win. And US odds actually decreased slightly going into final 16 after their performance. Nothing like if 80 USSR team lost in 1st round. Shoot the 1980s USSR lost to us in the semi's and the free world went absolutely bonkers from the magnitude of that upset. Much of the focus on the World Cup elimination is due to maga celebrating the USA Women's Team losing.

America is going to have get more woke if we want to compete at sports

 

People can always pull for Iran or Saudi Arabia if they're looking to celebrate countries that are serious about gender conformity.

 

It's the height of misogyny to base your opinion of women's athletics on their looks, so no, it didn't need to be said at all.

I pity any women who have the misfortune of being around you.

 

This wasn't the US' best team. At the same time, the rest of the world is catching up in women's soccer. More countries are capable of winning it all than ever; and more countries are capable of beating anyone on any single day than ever before. This combination lead to the US barely scrapping by in the group stage, and bowing out early in the knockout rounds. Not a huge surprise.

The team just never seemed in sync. The D played well, giving up only 1 goal in 4 games. But the midfield didn't control games, and the finishing was awful. And again, the women's game is becoming more and more competitive. The US just can't rely on superior conditioning and athletes to bury lesser opponents. We need to be more tactical and finish the opportunities we do get. Because soccer, especially at the highest levels, is about finishing.

Last, I consider it a positive that people are complaining about a women's national team. Baby steps. 40 years ago, there was no Women's World Cup. 32 years ago, the US won the first, and barely anyone watched or cared. Today, it's a leading story and being discussed all over the world. And even if you disagree with the ladies on the US squad, at least you are listening, and that's often the first step to understanding.

USA was dominant before woke was even a whisper.
