IMO, Fox News is the weathervane for mainstream Republican sentiments and beliefs. Do they hold the iron grip on as much of the Republican viewership that they used to? No; obviously after decades, some savvy and skeezy executives were going to figure out they could carve away part of that audience with even more extreme right-wing coverage and takes, just like mainstream Republican politicians in safe districts keep getting primaried by crazies to the right of them.

It's also the lion that the GOP has been riding for 2+ decades, and it's no longer clear who's really in charge of where they're jointly going.

The problem is the refugee procedure such that you set foot in the country and you ask for asylum and you get put on a future list with a future court date. This isn’t a Biden administration policy. It is the law. It’s up to congress to change the law, which would be fine with Biden administration. But congress won’t do it. They prefer the optics and the back and forth blame game.

To their credit the Biden admin came up with a procedure that greatly reduced this. But now a court has said it is unconstitutional although they put a temporary stay on their ruling.

 

If you want your president at the border speaking to illegal immigrants in their native tongue I guess RFK Jr is your guy.
