    Did not see an existing thread on this. I apologize if I missed it. It was certainly a big story a few years ago and helped lead to Youngkin's victory.

    Turns out the facts are complex and very different than what was trumpeted by right wing media. No trans angle at all.

    New York Times Magazine with a long form based upon actual testimony and evidence from legal proceedings. Defies easy summary.

    In a nut shell. Boy and girl had met for sex in bathroom before. This time she doesn’t want to have sex and seemed to indicate that reluctance in a text. When she met the boy in bathroom this time he sexually assaults her. A basic case of rape/date rape that is an undeniable crime.

    Boy student wasn’t transgender but did wear a skirt that day. He’s a drama club kid and prone to dress for attention but not transgendered. Enter conservative media.

    And school officials were slow to address a boy that was a clear danger. But the dad wasn’t arrested to suppress the investigation into his daughter’s rape to protect trans rights. Police may have been overzealous, but it was completely unrelated.
