That's a decision. Won't be surprised if it blows up in their faces.

He's progressed from slashing budgets to slitting throats. Two observations: 1. The gun people are going to be jealous, and 2. I think the only throat he's slitting is his own.

I wonder why this bloody image wasn't included in his Macho Ron video?

Not surprising. All kinds of fundraising calls were being made with the veto pen in his hand. No way this wasn't criminal.

Ron DeSantis administration officials solicit campaign cash from lobbyists
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Officials who work for Gov. Ron DeSantis' administration — not his campaign — have been sending text messages to Florida lobbyists soliciting political contributions for DeSantis' presidential bid, a breach of traditional norms that has raised ethical and legal questions and left many here in the state capital shocked.
NBC News reviewed text messages from four DeSantis administration officials, including those directly in the governor's office and with leadership positions in state agencies. They requested the recipient of the message contribute to the governor’s campaign through a specific link that appeared to track who is giving as part of a “bundle” program.

DeSantis’ racist educational administrators caused Gary Mormino’s lecture to be cancelled. The Times printed it.

Editor’s note: The Commissioner of Education’s African American History Task Force invited historian Gary Mormino to participate in a summer workshop for Florida teachers. His topic centered on Florida during World War II. Gov. Ron DeSantis then appointed new board members. Mormino was informed that his talk was canceled. The following is what he would have said.

Pearl Harbor galvanized an America deeply divided over military preparedness and the fate of Europe. African American leaders pledged a Double V campaign — victory against fascism and totalitarianism but also victory at home against racism. Articulating the goals of fighting on two fronts was relatively easy; the reality of confronting segregation in the Jim Crow South and U.S. military proved daunting.

Stories illustrate the anxieties and fears of Americans at war. Rev. Edward D. Davis Sr., an educator and civil rights leader, enjoyed telling audiences about an incident in Ocala. W. H. Long, a Black man was registering for the draft at Howard Academy. An imperious white man, believing Long was not enthusiastic about becoming a soldier, snarled, “I see you don’t love your country.” Long replied, “Oh, but I do love my country, but my country don’t love me.”

Fairly certain that is against state law/policy. I remember memos reminding state employees that electioneering on state time or while wearing a uniform, or having a political bumper sticker on a state vehicle was a violation of some sort - whether of policy or of law I don’t recall.
Nobody I knew of was so all-fired stupid to have done it.

DeSatans largest mega donor calls it quits. Admits he made huge mistake demands DeSatan moderates his positions (good luck with that) and contemplates backing the Dem ticket.

I read some analysis that DeSatan’s problem is that he’s trying to out trump trump but vile Trumpaloon’s simple question is why back that clown when I can back the real Clown?

Exclusive-DeSantis' biggest donor says he won't give more money unless changes are made | Reuters

Bigelow's comments will likely stoke perceptions that DeSantis, once a donor darling expected to put up a real fight against Trump, is in a downward spiral as his right-wing social policies and wooden personality fail to excite voters.

DeSantis has been running to the right of Trump despite many Republican strategists saying he should instead be trying to court moderates concerned about Trump's policies and electability.

Florida is so weird these days.

Worshipers take over Florida mall for prayer, singing; trespassed after 30 minutes, leaders say

ORLANDO, Fla. - People were told to leave the Mall at Millenia for singing and praying in the middle of the building's atrium on Wednesday. The leaders of the large group were told they would be arrested if they come back.

"I think anyone should be allowed to go to any mall they want and worship and ask people if they need healing and pray for people because we need more good in this world," said Jimmy Levy, a gospel singer from Miami. "There’s so much darkness."

After 30 to 40 minutes of song and prayer, police and mall security handed Levi and Lorenzo pink slips, telling them to leave and that they could be arrested if they come back. The Orlando Police Department told FOX 35 trespass warnings were given without incident.

"As we were leaving, they gave us the pink slip telling us that we’re banned indefinitely from the mall, in a very nice manner though," Levy said.

Grand jury investigating DeSantis's education department for bid-rigging:

A federal grand jury is investigating allegations of bid-rigging involving Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Department of Education, charter school operators and the control of a small North Florida school district.

Federal authorities issued a subpoena to the Jefferson County School District in June seeking communications between district officials, charter school lobbyists and former top officials in DeSantis’ education department.

It also seeks records relating to the department’s attempt to steer a multimillion-dollar contract to a politically connected company with ties to DeSantis’ former education commissioner, Richard Corcoran. The contract would have been funded by federal coronavirus relief dollars.

Creepy. Sounds like based on the quotes they don’t understand or respect private property either. They seem to be mocking their trespass notices. No, you don’t have a right to just take over a mall. You need *PERMISSION*. Where are we finding these people?

Should ask permission or do it in an actual public space (like a park) where you aren’t interrupting people or costing the stores $$$ by “taking over” the mall. In effect, even though Christian cultists no doubt think they are righteous, what they did is the same as any other social media flash mob (minus the looting lol). Not as big as that NYC “influencer” incident, but just about as annoying to people who want no part of it.

DeSantis' campaign has always seemed a bit bizarre. He can't "out Trump" Trump. He has to be banking on the belief Trump ultimately will not be available to run in 2024, whether that is due to legal or health issues. At that point he feels he can just scoop up Trump's supporters. That base won't support him with the same fervor they support Trump, however, and he's not doing anything to expand that base. He's not appealing to moderates, independents or educated women. Frankly, he's not appealing period...and that is his largest problem.

Even on that he’s a bit of a fraud.

This is the guy who put highway patrol at the border of the state, under the guise of singling out travelers coming from New York.

Can DeSantis moderate his message, even temporarily as a ploy? Not sure he’s capable. He’s capable of deception, to be sure, but he’s possessed of hatred, with a dark soul
