That's actually a very frank but honest and accurate evaluation, imo. He's not saying who bears responsibility for the action, but who ultimately has control over it.

I would argue that relationships/marriage are more shared control than purely in the man's sphere.

Again, not talking about who's responsible for actions or consequences, but who has the most say in each of those instances.

The fact is the lack of family structure for many low income youth is a major reason why these kids struggle in school and and will often continue these struggles as venture into adulthood. And the cycle continues as studies show these kids will eventually be as irresponsible as their mothers and fathers were, and the cycle goes on and on.

No one is blaming these kids nor is anyone saying to give up on them. But it is fair to blame their irresponsible mothers and fathers, who need to be held accountable for putting their children into this vicious cycle.

Then therapy makes even less sense in the context of one school. The kids are there for what like 3-4 years? Therapy does not produce immediate results, if it ever does. And you talking about providing it to parents, and hoping it impacts the kids in the short period where they attend the school?

I think therapy can benefit most people, but how do you propose to provide it? I don't think every school is going to have a rich benefactor donating their money. Its barely accessible to adults, unless they have money to pay for it. Its a pretty long term process too.

 

This school in particular is a private school and is funded by donations. It can be provided simply through their budget. Everything else is provided to these kids already such as food, shelter, and clothing.

 

Its not a private school. Its a public school working with a private foundation. Its basically a charter.

That's fine but if it's about race that's one thing, if you're saying it's racism, that's another. Would it be reasonable for a white person to expect some racist attitudes if they moved to Japan? Wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Do other cultures or countries have the same issue with single mothers or male role models that have been brought up in this thread? I'm sure other countries have poverty so at least that's comparable.
