I think the reason Cotrill did not sit out a year is because she was going to another conference. If she were to transfer to another SEC team, she would have to sit out. Skylar had to sit out a year because of SEC rules.

 

Sorry but this is on the coaching staff, I know Tim is working his butt off to try and do something. But he made an awful hire and it has put the team in a hole. I dont know who is out there for what right now, but having 2 freshman pitchers no matter how good they are is bad roster management. That is on the HC, he is not teflon he has to take the bad with the good. Softball should have asked around maybe to get some help and if they did and the other sports didnt help shame on them. Talking about the young lady who went to SC right now even though I was not totally impressed with her. She could have ate some innings and provided leadership though. Wonder if any JUCO pitchers are out there..

 

Believe it or not Kendra was a heck of a pitcher in High School. Not a bad position for her to play as no bunting will be possible with her on the mound!

No. Skylar had to sit out the year before that because she transferred a couple months before the SEC rule was changed and they denied her waiver request. The rule did not exist anymore, as far as I can remember, when Julia transferred. So, in that regard, you are correct, Julia did not have to sit out a year and did not need a waiver on her first transfer just like everyone in or out of the SEC. She would have on her transfer to A&M.

Sara Longley - she played most of the other positions on the diamond, why not pitcher

imagine being Nicole May. You finally think you're going to get time in the circle or be the ace and then BOOM 3 transfers come in. Theres a top recruit coming in OU I think either 2024 or the 2025 season. But patty will probably grab 2 or 3 more transfers next year.

 

I seriously doubt it. She wanted to get paid and got paid. That’s the only reason someone oh her talent level goes to South Carolina.

Knew it was too good to be true when everyone said they were coming here.

 

Korbe Otis and Jocelyn Erickson were great additions from the portal this year. We just struck out on the 2 pitchers we were after. Will be interested to see if there's some type of back-up plan to bring in a couple of pitchers from somewhere. Sure hope so.

 

There were 50,000 plus reasons Vawter went to South Carolina. Hope she enjoys watching the WCWS on tv.

 

It would be surprising to me if SC has NIL to even offer her free Frogmore Stew. Have you seen their stadium and attendance? Run of the mill at best. Did she say she was getting $50,000?
