Joe's own returns also showed that the sources of his income were from speaking engagements and advances/royalties from his books, not from non-existent bribes. Whether one approves or not Biden didn't use the S corporations to conceal the sources of his income but rather as a perfectly legal vehicle to avoid taxes.
PolitiFact - Biden’s income sources aren’t such a big mystery
Joe Biden used this strategy to trim his tax bill. You can, too.

You are the teacher who believes the kid when he says his dog ate his homework. It's hilarious. You are the perfect example of a partisan lemming. Love it! Here is that far right leaning paper the Washington Post calling out more Biden lies on China.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...earned-no-money-china-his-son-says-otherwise/

In 2019, Biden said he had “never spoken to” his son about his business dealings. But lawmakers disagreed about whether Archer testified that the calls were substantive, and a transcript of Monday’s hearing has not been released. “Nothing about the House Republicans’ witness testimony contradicts what the President has long stated,” White House spokesperson Ian Sams said.”

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy appeared to refer to Biden’s debate remarks last week when he suggested the House might take up an impeachment inquiry. “When Biden was running for office, he told the public he has never talked about business,” McCarthy told Sean Hannity of Fox News. “He said his family has never received a dollar from China — which we prove is not true.”

What is clear is that Hunter Biden did receive “a dollar from China.” However, note that Welker asked “about the work your son has done in China and for a Ukrainian energy company when you were vice president.” Biden might have been narrowly interpreting that question as confined to just that period of time — and the payments to Hunter Biden came after his father left office.

Biden’s narrative on never discussing business deals with Hunter continues to crumble

"First of all, I have never discussed with my son or my brother or anyone else anything having to do with their business, period," Biden said in August 2019. "There wasn't any hint of scandal at all when we were there. It was the same kind of strict, strict rules. That's why I never talk with my son or my brother or anyone else, even distant family about their business interest, period."

From 2017 - 2018, Joe Biden did close to 50 speaking engagements, with his highest fee being $235,000. All of this information can be found on Biden's tax returns, and nothing is secret. Biden also made money from his book, as well as a salary he was getting for the work he was doing with the UPenn. If Biden was taking money from the Chinese, it cannot be found in his tax returns.

@gator95, read your quote again, this time with emphasis added in bold. "First of all, I have never discussed with my son or my brother or anyone else anything having to do with their business, period," What part of this statement from Joe is a lie? It was corroborated by Devon Archer's testimony that Hunter would discuss inane topics like the weather on these phone calls with father Joe, and NEVER TALK ABOUT BUSINESS!

Joe did put out a statement that he never talked to these guys, but who remembers every phone call they have with their kids and/or parents? It is also documented that during this time period, Hunter and Joe were talking on the phone 1 or 2 times a day. So if Hunter calls dad, says he has some guys with him on speaker who want to say hello, that happens, and then the rest of the phone conversation is innocuous weather speak, do we really want to impeach Joe for not remembering these phone calls? There's probably nothing that stands out as extraordinary to Joe that would cause him to remember the details of these calls. And again, as Archer testified, Joe's statement that he never talked business on these calls is accurate.

If you’re still confused about the Joe and Hunter Biden crime scheme, let me break it down for you in the simplest way possible:

Joe Biden was in charge of Ukrainian relations during his term as Vice President.

During Joe’s term, a Ukrainian prosecutor named Viktor Shokin was investigating corruption at an oil & gas company Burisma.

Burisma hired Joe’s son Hunter to their board and paid him $83k a month for access to his father, the Vice President.

Burisma begged Joe to help them stop Shokin’s investigation.

Joe bribed Burisma to pay $10 mil for his help.

Joe Biden then threatened to withhold a $1 billion loan from the US to Ukraine if the Ukrainian President Poroshenko didn’t fire the prosecutor. Joe is on video sharing this with us.

The prosecutor was then fired and Joe bragged about it.

Ukraine got $1 billion from the US.

The Biden’s got $10 million from Burisma. Bank records confirm this. https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Bank-Memorandum-5.10.23.pdf

Hopefully that helps. It's not bullshit. The Biden crime family is sloppy and corrupt. The DOJ/FBI cannot save them anymore.

It's amazing the delusion and mental gymnastics these posters have to do to rationalize away the lies that Biden and the WH have made over the past few years. They look dumber and dumber with every post, which is hard to do.

I’m assuming the WH will clarify prior comments at some point in the near future. Let’s see what they have to say. It’s very possible that Joe didn’t know he was on speaker with Hunter’s business associates. Either way, there still isn’t any actionable evidence that he was involved in Hunter’s business or received any benefit from it. Sooner or later the investigation needs to produce that or stop wasting money and time.

Since Joe's tax returns are public, please go look at them and show me where they show these payments came from book deal or speaking engagements. Hint' it is not there. The payments were to his s-corps, look them up, they are nothing but shell companies, try to find where they show where the income came from, hint you won't find it.

You want to call the president a crook and a liar based on your gut feeling and you call me partisan. I don’t like Hunters use of nepotism any more than I like the Trump clan grifting of the US government. But to insinuate the Joe Biden has taken money and done business with his son for his own interest is a lie, by you. You actually need evidence someone is a crook, not a feeling.

By the way I don’t appreciate the conversation devolving into calling me names.

If you believe Joe discussed business with Hunter on these phone calls, then find a witness that corroborates this took place. Many thought Devon Archer would be such a witness. Only problem, he corroborated Joe's statement that business was never discussed on these calls. And to date, the total number witnesses who said business was discussed on these calls is a grand total of zero.

All you may have is Joe forgot that on about 20, out of 100s of calls, was on speaker and was talking to some of Hunter's associates. But again, never about business. Still don't understand why this is a big deal.

As for Joe's income, it's not hard to track down all of Joe's speaker engagements. There are dates, times, and likely social media posts about each engagement. The book and UPenn payments are easy to track as well.

Biden is a liar. Don't know if he's a crook. Fact, not a gut feeling. You are so partisan it's funny to see. You can't think rationally. Show me where I said biden has taken money. I'll wait for the apology.

I love that you fancy yourself as some independent but spend literally all day on this site attacking liberals while turning a blind eye to every thing trump or the GOP does. You are just as partisan if not more. You're fooling nobody.

Let me break this down for you in the simplest way possible. You made half this crap up and twisted around a good portion of your remaining averments. I guess when the facts don't fit your narrative, it's just simpler to change the "facts." Unfortunately, that is "intellectual" dishonesty on the highest order.

Show the witness that says they didn't talk business. The only one saying that is a democrat senator's interpretation of Archer's behind closed doors, not under oath discussion with the committee.
We know for fact they had over 20 plus calls with business partners, we know for fact, from bank transactions, $5 mil came from Burisma right after firing of prosecutor just to mention a few of known facts.
At some point the left will have to admit the connecting of the dots or continue on in your bubble.

Oh. So this is an exercise to parse the nuance of a politicians characterization of phone calls vs an exercise to determine if a President was bribed? I am not interested in that. If you dont think Biden was bribed then Im good. Call his phone calls whatever you want.

You are the one who believes Joe and Hunter talked business at these 20 plus calls. At an average of just 5 persons per call, that's 100 people who could potentially corroborate Joe and Hunter discussed business. To date, we have a grand total of zero people corroborating Joe and Hunter talked business.

Rs were also in the room when Archer testified. Not a single one of them is claiming Archer's testimony confirmed Joe and Hunter talked business on these calls. Add that up with no other testimony, and there is no evidence Joe and Hunter ever talked business. Evidence is important; or at least it should be.

Speaking of evidence, R. Andy Biggs admitted that Archer knew nothing of the $5 million Burisma payment to Biden. Biggs is as MAGA as they come. I should know. I live in his district. So again, you have a claim that Burisma paid Biden $5 million with absolutely zero corroborating evidence.

You probably still think Maricopa County ballots were infiltrated by thousands of phony Asian ballots to swing the election to Biden!

Poster failed to read the Politifact link where it states that the book deals and speaking fees which accounted for the jump in income were sent thru the s-corps. Not difficult to find at all.

Even assuming that Joe Biden was aware of the details of Hunter's business dealings there is still no evidence that Joe Biden was directly involved in the dealings or had received any financial benefits from the deals or as Comer and that right-wing media continue to imply that Joe Biden received bribes from Hunter's business associates. .

Meh. I understood Biden's meaning as he isnt in business or involved in his son's business. 95 wants to burn him at the stake if Hunter complained about his business out loud or was in the room with Hunter and anyone he does business with. Whatever. No one survives that kind of scrutiny. There is zero to implicate Joe in wrong doing so the next step is just to innuendo him to death. Awesome.
