The best outcome is Mertz has an above average year 8-4 or better and decides to stay for his RS senior year allowing Lagway to redshirt and truly soak up the offense before getting his shot.
I have a feeling Mertz is going to surprise a lot of folks that get all their information from the media outlets that do nothing but regurgitate what each other is saying.
