And how do you think universal healthcare is funded? Who pays more and who pays less?

Biden hasn’t been great but he’s certainly been competent. He won’t be listed amongst the great Presidents but he also will never be amongst the candidates for worst.

I don’t want either him or Trump to run again but our elections are much more about name recognition and persona than competence. I don’t know what’s really to blame for that but it has resulted in us not having the best candidates for the most important role in modern history.

Excluding health and going to prison, Dear Leader is locked in as repub nom. A jury found him liable for sexual assault. Biden won 2020 by 10m votes. trump is still currently leading by 20-30 points. I’ve never seen the lasting fanaticism for a politician like Dear Leader has with his followers.
I agree on Biden, his age is showing. Maybe dems will put up someone else, a big percentage of dems don’t want Biden to run again.

Why replace the dummy when the ventriloquist is doing fine?

Yes, I'm referring to both men referenced above.

LOL. It's spread to everyone not just me. You wouldn't be upset if your healthcare went from 250 a month to 1250 in 18 months? Let's be honest.

I'm curious where you're getting $1250 a month. Is that an arbitrary number? If that did happen I'd be all for it. Right now I'm paying $800/month and have paid almost $6k in since meeting my deductible. Bring on the $1250/month

LOL. If I claimed to be for universal healthcare I'd realize that universal healthcare is going to cost me more money since I'd be subsidizing people who don't make as much as I do. Obamacare wasn't perfect and I wish Obama had been able to push through true universal healthcare. It didn't happen and it won't happen because republicans are universally opposed to it.

Yeah, the whole paying 5 times as much for me was a bridge too far. If Obama did move us to universal healthcare then my price wouldn't have increased 5 times. But you know this. Good try. Swing and a miss.

Fair enough. Speaking of swinging and missing though, you gonna come back and admit you had it wrong on how BLS calculates real wages?

DeSantis has zero shot. If the Uni-Party were to somehow dispose of Trump, Vivek would take the lead. Floridians who once went to bat for DeSantis now despise him. He is a phony.

I’d only say he is far from a phony. I think he is exactly the bigot he tells us he is.

No. Someone making 50k in 2020 now has to make almost 60k to afford the same stuff.

So? That has nothing to do with your claim that the BLS does not include food and energy prices in its calculation of real wages.

If you want to know why this fell so flat on its face, look no further than DeSantis' reaction to the Trump indictment. He posts some mealy mouthed statement about how he hasn't read the indictment but accuses everybody of being mean to Trump (you know, his opponent) by indicting him.

Now, it is easy to blame DeSantis for being spineless. However, the reality is far darker. He recognizes that the Republican Party is Trump's party. That the voters he needs prefer an indicted (and even, eventually, a potentially convicted) Trump to him or literally any other Republican leader, so he has to hope something happens to Trump and that he isn't seen as too disloyal. The problem is the Republican Primary voter, not the candidates.

Interesting dynamics for sure! DeSantis seems to be making waves and gaining ground against Biden and even Trump. Polls can be unpredictable, but it's clear that DeSantis is gaining traction without even fully entering the race. The 2024 race is shaping up to be quite a showdown. Politics always keeps us guessing, huh? ️
