Raised $78M last quarter to use as a war chest to stop Trump. Wo is his best bet? I'm thinking Youngkin but he needs to declare soon.

Charles Koch-Linked Group Raises $78 Million to Stop Trump (msn.com)

A super PAC with close ties to billionaire Charles Koch raised $78 million in the first half of 2023, money the group is using to try and prevent former President Donald Trump from becoming the Republican nominee.

Americans for Prosperity Action received the bulk of its funding from two $25 million donations, according to its latest filing with the Federal Election Commission, one from Koch Industries Inc. and the second from Stand Together Chamber of Commerce, a political nonprofit that doesn’t disclose its donors,

The super political action committee also received $5 million donations from billionaires Rob Walton and Jim Walton, both heirs of Walmart Inc. Ron Cameron, a major GOP donor who supported Trump in 2020, gave $1 million. Americans for Prosperity Action spent $4 million and ended June with $75 million cash on hand.

Never believe them. I’m sure Charles would prefer a more traditional Republican but he would be OK with Trump. This is just reputation management

I don't think so. They do not like Trump or the group that supports him. And beyond just money, they have a massive grass roots machine in place.

I didn't say they like him. I just said that they'll be just fine with him if he appears through the inevitable nominee. They may have a war chest amassed, but they're not going to deploy it against him. It will be used against democrats. Saying that they might use it against him as just the reputation polishing, so that they can support him without being tainted by him

we will ahve to agree to disagree and let history be the judge. The Kochs do not like the current version of the pub party and are trying to take it back from the trumpettes. Might not like them but have to give them credit for taking their shot to run MAGA nation out of the drivers seat

Any chance it might be Scott? He presents himself as a more traditional conservative and Republican. Or Maybe keep the cash on hand till a viable un-trump emerges.
