I would say he has more than a zero chance, thanks to the electoral college. Its closer to a coin flip than 0%. Ultimately Republican voters like DeSantis but think Trump is more electable than DeSantis, the polling bears that out.

I think it’s funny that most everyone thinks whoever is the Oval Office matters all that much. The bureaucracy runs this Country. Right now the only candidates that claims to get it is Kennedy (to some degree) on the left an Ramaswamy on the right. POTUS is becoming a figurehead.

I absolutely despise Trump and while I do not think that he will be elected, I had similar thoughts regarding his electibility in 2016 and I turned out to be wrong and tragically for the country I could be wrong again. Perhaps the biggest difference between then and now is that "libbies" who were pissed off at Hillary Clinton in 2016 and stayed home or voted third party are much less likely to do the same again. Even if they have problems with Old Joe they're much more likely to vote for him than stay home as they did with Hillary in 2016.

You are thinking about this wrong, Ron DeSantis needs a few indictments of his own if he wants to improve his polling with Republicans

Trump is steadily moving up in the polls with each indictment among rancid GOP voters but he needs to make a grand gesture to seal the deal. I think the logical next step is to shoot Jack Smith on 5th Avenue. He’ll instantly vault to 100%.

So the question is, will we have one presidential candidate running from prison, or two?

Come on man! Incarcerating him for murder before the election would be pure political persecution.:)

Don't agree with that at all. DeSantis has a significant chance to win. Trump doesn't. Too many people like me who will never vote for trump. I wouldn't vote for DeSantis either at this time because of his abortion stance but trump is an automatic no for me.

I thought Trump had a chance in 16 even though i wouldn't vote for him. He has no chance now IMO.

I agree he doesn’t have an electoral path anymore but that’s in no small part because of key state legislative wins by the Dems after Jan 6th.

Disagree there. It's because the R's put forth some stunning idiots like oz and lake among others.

I wish this were true. But I’m not convinced. The democrats are running Joe ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ Biden, with the lovable Kamala Harris a weak heartbeat away from the presidency.

All it would take is an economic downturn and there’s a clear path to a Trump victory. And a second Trump term would be disastrous IMO. He would be hell bent on revenge, and the spineless GOP congress and senate would line up to kiss the ring.

To those democrats hoping Trump wins the nomination, be very careful what you wish for.

Both of whom were endorsed and supported by Trump as was that stunning genius Herschel Walker. When Trump says "Trump" the overwhelming majority of Republican voters respond by asking "How high, sir?". In fact Trump probably has even more influence over Republican voters than he did when he made the endorsements during the 2022 primaries.

What you just said doesn't make sense. Trump was behind oz, lake and walker. They all lost. R's that aren't idiots want no part of trump or anyone connected to him. It's what prevented the R's from getting the majority in the senate(plus a major help from the Supreme Court overturning Roe V Wade, which was stupid). The overwhelming majority of voters DIDN'T vote those 3 idiots in part because 1. They were idiots, 2. Connected to trump. If trump had that kind of influence still, the R's would have the majority. They don't

Trump won't drop out. In fact the best thing for him to skate all of these charges is to win the presidency. I think the more charges he has the more important it becomes for him to win

Trump “picks” won their primaries at an almost 100% rate. Sometimes he picked the winning horse after the race, but for the most part he didn’t.

Of those, only one R lean race was lost. Another 10 or so won, and in some cases you ended up with some real thought champions, like JD Vance.

T candidates lost nearly all toss-ups. But a lot were absurdly close. Herschel and Blake Masters, for example. These two can barely say anything that isn’t grounds for immediate institutionalization, and both came within low single digits of winning.
