This is when I knew for certain that Jim MacShark was not the guy. In 2nd year on his tour of cities to speak at Gator club event, it ended and Mac went into the Gator bus. A former Gator player, a starter under Spurrier, went up to the bus to get him to autograph a poster. The former player was an Asst high school football coach at a local school. MacShark refused autograph. Refused to be bothered.
Zero punishment for the holy UM team for Harbaugh to miss 4 games against scrubs. They’re charter members of the original good ole boys club. The double standard applies. SMH
Their first four games are at home and the toughest team they play is probably Rutgers, so I don’t think it will cost them a national championship.
Not sure what this has to do with Harbaugh, but very insightful. I hope he had a good reason for denying the autograph.
A BCS team guilty of a recruiting violations? Oh please. As if that gives a competitive advantage today.
Why the hell would he lie about a few impermissible contacts? Fess up and nothing happens. Hope he doesn't get paid for 1/3 of the season.
McShark went in the bus asap after the speech. I guess he thought signing autographs pre speech was all he "had" to do. He was on the bus and even some kids were denied. I talked to the ex player before and after and he was ticked. Great coaches don't do that. Neither do great athletes or celebs. Off topic but I watched a known PGA tour player (major winner) walk from scoring tent after a horrid 76 to miss cut and sign every single autograph, though I'm sure he wanted to go home.
With that title "Harbaugh formula" I was expecting to see a way to make Burrito Brothers sauce out of freshly picked boogers.
Sometimes there is a fine line about fans harassing celebrities and just being fans, but an event like you described Mac should have hung around and signed every single autograph requested. Even Spurrier would tell his team they didn't have to sign every autograph request they would get walking to practice, etc.
That seperates the men from the boys. If you don’t have time for your fans, you are shit. I’ve been many times waiting on Tedeschi trucks to come to the buses. They always come out and greet every single person and give us a lowdown on wherevtobbeblatenightbforbthe magic. Never dismissed.
What impact…East Carolina, UNLV, Bowling Green or Rutgers?? Jim Harbaugh crows about Michigan's potential in 2023, stays mum on expected NCAA suspension ... for now
6 years to get blown out by every SEC team you play isn't going to cut it. UF did just as well as UM against UGA in 2021. The harbaugh formula is just to play in the big 10. Jimmy got slapped around by Mullen in his first year using many of the same players from the 2017 UF loss.
The maclwein thing still perplexes me. I've seen former players of his praise how genuine he was as a person and yet a couple of former Gator players have told me that while Muschamp welcomed former players and families, all of that changed with maclwein. Seems to contradict each other unless the guy just changed over time. Sources were credible in each account.
Current player and former Gators from another coaching staff are NOT the same thing. I heard from very reputable source that The Swamp Donkey disrespected SOS for offering to help him out in anything he wanted regarding plays or coaching. Swamp Donkey also hated the higher-ups at the university.
Huh? My source was from former Spurrier players. The positive testimonials came from several former players of mac's from other stops. Hence why I wonder if the guy changed. The flippant dismissal of spurrier by Mac wasn't a secret as it made the rounds back then as well. No argument about it.
