DANG! Gatorchamps is on to us
Guys - we'll have to change our bi-weekly meeting on what popular media we are to consume in order to spur interest. The Left no longer believes we are individuals making our own choices...no, that could never be.
Ladies - we men folk will let you know where and when to bring the sandwiches to our next meeting; until then, please continue to let people know we are at our bible study.
    Carry on.

millions are being trafficked and people here want accurate numbers? these kids are being raped repeatedly by dirty gross men and they want accurate numbers. the lil bubble these people live in is sad. they have been conditioned to believe the main stream media and are proud of it.

That group is absoluly grifting. This is not uncommon on that issue. You exaggerate the problem by orders of magnitude and scare people without the will or ability to research the topic to discover that they made up their numbers. Then, sell those people merchandise or get them to donate. That is how you take a very real but also relatively rare problem and turn it into a massive money making opportunity. Heck, you showed it here when you shared the numbers without any critical thought about them. It is quite effective.

For more background on the organization and it's grifting:

The funny part is that you started with an even more ridiculous claim (now it is "millions" being trafficked) and then are mad that people want some accuracy as to the scale of the problem. That is the way that shady organizations and conspiracy theorists exploit folks. The people exploited don't even care if they are accurate as to how much this horrible thing occurs. It just becomes about identity and feeling like you are helping (and that others, that you don't like, aren't).

I'm exaggerating the problem by orders of magnitude but we don't have accurate numbers? How is that even possible? Here's a hint, it's not. Since there are no concrete numbers anywhere, you nor I have a good estimate of the numbers. But you are the one minimizing this.

Here are some more examples. I guess everyone is grifting...

    Trafficking of children - Wikipedia.

    Worldwide[edit]
Trafficking of children has been documented in every region of the world.[1][98] A widely used figure regarding the prevalence of this practice is provided by the ILO, which estimates that 1.2 million children are trafficked each year; this estimate includes cross-border and internal trafficking.[99]

Facts About Human Trafficking in the US - DeliverFund.org.

It is estimated that between 15,000 to 50,000 women and children are forced into sexual slavery in the United States every year, and the total number varies wildly as it is very difficult to research. One study from the Department of Health and Human Services estimated the number between 240,000 and 325,000, while a report from the University of Pennsylvania put it at between 100,000 and 300,000.

Gaps in Reporting Human Trafficking Incidents Result in Significant Undercounting

In two of the three study sites [1] — jurisdictions with populations of 2.3 million and 600,000, respectively — researchers concluded that human trafficking incidents identified in law enforcement and social service agency records likely represented only a fraction of the actual incidence. The study found that the official trafficking numbers in one jurisdiction represented as little as 14% and at most 18% of the potential total trafficking victims.[2] Looking at law enforcement’s human trafficking records alone, underreporting in those two jurisdictions was even more acute, with no more than 6% of potential human trafficking victims captured in police records in both jurisdictions, the research report noted.

In 2008, a federal statute for protecting trafficking victims authorized the FBI to start collecting offense and arrest data on trafficking as part of the UCR Program. In 2013, the UCR Program started collecting information in its Summary Reporting System and the National Incident-Based Reporting System on human trafficking in commercial sex acts and human trafficking in involuntary servitude (i.e., sex trafficking and labor trafficking).

The deficiency of UCR data on trafficking crimes is attributable to three primary factors, the report said:

    1. The relative recency of the incorporation of trafficking data in UCR, with some jurisdictions moving more quickly than others to contribute their data to that central crime data source.
    2. Deficient identification of potential human trafficking incidents by local law enforcement.
    3. Incomplete reporting of identified offenses at the local and state agency levels.

It's more than millions according to A21 that our company supports. Facts and numbers right on the front page for you. We also support a local charity in Tampa called Mary Lee's House. We have first hand knowledge of the evil that exists in the world today. We know we are helping.

The Homeless, MM Climate Change and LBGTQ+ rights have never, ever exaggerated their position. I’m certain all those on the Left have vehemently and consistently pointed out when they did…sarcasm.

Now compared to children and others being trafficked and raped, making sure donors don’t get duped is A #1 PRIORITY. Let’s get Lois Lerner and her team to audit things;…. oh, she “retired”? Nice.

Okay, let's look at your numbers again. First, you start with the broadest definition of "child trafficking" on the topic of childhood sex trafficking, a small subset of that much larger proportion, at the international level (when your initial claim was about the US). So two ways to inflate the numbers on that stat.

Then you refer to a fuzzy estimate of child and women (i.e., adult) sex trafficking. That estimate, with the obvious issue, is still an order of magnitude less than your initial claim for child sex trafficking alone.

So yes, you are wildly exaggerating the incidence of this. Because even numbers that include both children and adults don't back your point.

The best grift is the one where the victims will defend it. No, A21 does not claim that there are millions of victims of child sex trafficking a year. You are conflating a variety of activity.

There have certainly been shady organizations involved in many charitable causes, including homelessness in the past (veteran homeless organizations were a particular source of grift). Climate change is measured by scientific organizations that have a history of accuracy. That is based on peer reviewed science, which is quite a bit different than just blindly believing made up numbers. I have no idea what you are discussing with LGBTQ rights in terms of numbers.

You point to the real stats and I’ll look at them. The rest is you trying to minimize something very serious and prevalent. Since you don’t have any stats you are forced to try to diminish anything posted.

The lack of "real" stats doesn't excuse making up numbers (that are inflated by orders of magnitude based on what we know about trafficking, again, you just provided a very fuzzy estimate of children and women that is an order of magnitude less than the claim about children alone).

It is strange to seemingly want this to be more common. Shouldn't we both be happy that over 100,000 kids aren't victims of child sex trafficking a year in the US (which would be about 1 out of every 700 children or multiple children per high school)? It seems only one of us is.

Only in the TooHot universe will you find people deflecting and defending sex trafficking.

Nobody is defending child sex trafficking. Disgusting insinuation from somebody trying to point out the (seemingly good) news that it isn't as common as was claimed. But also not surprising given the source.

Bluke wants there to be more child sex trafficking in the world, apparently, and is very mad that somebody pointed out that there aren't 100,000 kids sex trafficked a year in the US.

Ugh. I’m actually trying to wade thru this thread to learn just how widespread and vast this horrible problem is. And using climate change denialism to back a point isn’t helping.
