I don’t think you see the big picture here. Joining a reputable conference gives this program life… and hope, about their future existence. We don’t want that.
Where would Miami go? FSU and Clemson rumored to the Big 10. Miami to Big 12? Would SEC want Miami? Don’t have the fan base. Would think the SEC would target UNC and Virginia. Big State schools in States to improve TV contract.
I think it’s “ why do they call you Lassie “ Because she howled like a dog. And the smell of the boys locker room turned her on
I saw he had a CB to LSU. Last I heard his plan was to be in UF on Saturday and turn around for an LSU visit on Sunday.
With regard to FSU to the Big 10, would help their money situation and likely help attract kids from NE and MW high schools (and maybe a kid or two from CA) their way. Helps Big 10 more in having CA and FL for TV contracts. Lot further travel and tougher conference to play football in. Norvelle still has trouble beating teams with winning records. Would Fl HS kids want to play in conf where parents could not travel to see them play due to distance of away games ? Would extra time and distance if travel impact all their sports teams?
I certainly know less than nothing when it comes to actual rumors, but every current (and newly joining) college in Big10 is an Association of American University member except for Nebraska, which was when they joined. FSU is not a member, USF was actually just selected before them. Now in today’s crazy football environment, does academic excellence matter more than the almighty dollar? I doubt it. But if it does, Notre Dame just got accredited and Virginia/North Carolina have been members for a while. So as others have stated, let FSU join the Big12 and take advantage of the schools out there.
And if anyone interested AAU members in SEC (not that they are leaving) Vandy Missouri Texas A&M Florida Go Gators!
