The Lull Before The Storm

I'm guessing that poster probably has a less than favorable opinion of our 2nd year HC. TBH, year one wasn't thrilling. But ignoring the mess that DM left behind and then pinning last year entirely on BN is just not reasonable - or particularly smart if you actually want to see UF get back to competing for championships someday soon. It almost seems to me as though some of our "fans" are suffering from Stockholm syndrome. They've been taken hostage by all the media madness, and they have come to associate more closely with their captors and tormentors than with their fellow Gator fans - or maybe even the team itself. IMHO, there is simply no excuse for throwing in the towel on the upcoming season or on a promising young HC based on an admittedly tough first season.

 

Gotta play defense in this league pure and simple, and have decent special teams.
You got that and any kind of functional offense and you have a chance to be decent. To be GREAT you have to excel in all three phases, have excellent coaching and win the turnover battles.

 

We will be much worse at QB and worse at OL

But a bump at WR will help. I bet we are 10-15 spots worse on O.

But the D was absolutely awful. If the D jumps to average we may be a borderline top 25 team

 

We put it together on the heels of a 6-7 $ea$on so maybe.

 

AR's passing stats were not any better then mertz's in that wiscy offense and our RBs will be even better this year I believe.
