Just more BS. Our colors are orange and blue ...end of story!!! Traditions, songs, cheers are all part of who we are...just where do black uniforms come from?
When you recruit as well as bama then I guess it’s not an issue? Probably has a lot to do with saban. when Meyer had us in alternates I don’t think we were missing anything, especially motivation.
I don’t think there is one answer. I think some consider black as much a UF color as white. I think some love a fresh appearance every once in a while. I think some like to make money. I’ve heard Napier down it as a way to raise awareness/money for the military. I’ve heard recruits love the different looks.
A total quack and false scientist. He is a fraudster. And your reference to Bedouin tribes wearing black is also ass. Some Arab tribes do wear black; this is partially due to their sect of Islam, and depends on where they live. Shia tend to wear black; Sunnis less so. . The majority of Bedouins do NOT wear black, although there are both sects of Islam among the Bedo. Iranians like black; they are almost exclusively Shia. Saudis wear white and are Sunni. Their is also this small issue of WHERE they live. The desert is not always hot; Iran is Shia; Afghanistan is Sunni. Yet both countries wear black, because it is cold there. Meanwhile the southern arab desert states, where it is hottest, mostly wear white. Maybe they know something about heat. Every person with half a brain knows that dark colors are hotter in the sun. DUH.
So what you're saying is there are actually some tribes that live in the desert that wear black (by choice) and don't die because of it , I never said "ALL bedouin tribes" , just said "there are actually bedouin tribes that wear black" in the crazy desert heat ... cool thanks for making my point while adding other groups that also wear black in the desert as well.
No need for more lessons/experiments. We all(and I’m guessing all Florida kids did)went outside in 4th grade. The temperature was significantly higher under the black paper versus the white paper. If you wear black in September, your message is, we don’t care about the heat. We are stomping you!
Before 2017, I might have been indifferent to the black design. But I was bracing for some version of the "Swamp Green" alternate unis while the tweet loaded... I've never seen anything so beautiful.
Bottomline is our players love alternate uniforms, especially the all blacks. In today’s social media driven recruiting, it is a good thing. And don’t lose sight of the message that CBN is trying to get across…which is honoring vets. I don’t see why this is even considered negative.
Gotta admit they’re sharp looking. Now we need to win the game wearing black. If we don’t, bury the idea of black unis forever going forward
I'm sorry, but that is just horse hockey. They're doing it for self-serving purposes and are trying to tie it up in a nice bow because they know that a lot of fans are opposed to them. They can honor vets in our normal O&B uniforms just as easily. Last time I checked, it wasn't one of our national colors either unless we've replaced part of red, white, and blue with black now.
My original response was to someone saying it is not safe wearing black in the sun in November? I simply responded with something I'd read, stating how there are tribes that wear black in the desert sun, by choice and still live to tell about it. And even after all the other responses I had gotten, along with yours that included some scientific data , dude wants to regurgitate more then a month later by telling me there are even more tribes that wear black, some for religious beliefs, ok I never said all wear black, amd he even listed more that do. my original point I was trying to make is wearing black one time in November is not gonna be a giant health hazard that people are mentioning, it more boils down to people just hate change and don't like the mere existence of black jerseys bc our colors are blue and orange? The argument makes no sense, because black just takes the place of white , which is also not one of our primary colors. Smh. And we still don't know, that I'm aware of what time kick off is gonna be, noon, 3:30,or a night game at 7 pm so arguing that is pointless especially coming on more then a month later to say the same thing that was already said by others.
My friend, it’s cheap to attribute a differing opinion to “hating change”. Some of us just don’t like the Gators going to black unis for several reasons mentioned above. As for what you read, I’d suggest considering that it is BS. Logic and simple basics of heat transfer say no. All that said, I don’t claim to know what the athletes like, and if they want it I can’t fault anyone for accommodating them. But if we lose that game, my reasons for not liking black unis take another shot of fuel
Can't argue with any of this Skink, I would agree even more if they tried to make the black jerseys. Our regular rotation but for a one-off. Once a year or so I don't see the big uproar. The "traditionalist" were the one I was referring to not liking the change of "secondary" color. As long as they're not hideous looking and look sharp im good. I actually liken this to when a basketball star changes his number to sell more jerseys. It's a money grab for sure but there are other benefits to be had from this... but like you said as long as we win.
