Yeah I lived in Denton for a few years and the summers were basically 102 every day. Different than the FL heat, but sucks the air out of your lungs. We're thinking of heading over to the Detroit Lakes area in a couple weeks. Never been to Itasca St Park, so play to check that out. Have a great time in OR/CA.

We live very close to Denton. What was then commonly 102 is now 104.

Only 84 today here in Charlotte. Projections for Miami being under water moved back one week.

Scientists say Florida Keys coral reefs are already bleaching as water temperatures hit record highs

That's lukewarm bath water. I find around 95 degrees to be the sweet spot for maximal relaxation.

It doesn’t matter. It’s too late. We’ve run out of time …

Sorry you had to change your plans, but those kind of temps do make the desert a bit less appealing ... and possibly dangerous. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

Got my 2 adult kids - taking them to places they haven’t been. We started in MN with annual family vacation on a lake - weather was wonderful never got to 80. Went to Yellowstone but pretty much drove through because of crowds and road construction. Now on Oregon Coast which is gorgeous and then will had to San Fran Bay Area. Going East will be more interesting and I can do without Vegas but this route will add about 6 hrs driving to the trip.

Man, that sounds good. We drove through Sonora Pass a few years ago. A couple of weeks into June and there was still six feet of snow along the roads at the summit.

sitting here right now in our Airbnb looking out at Oregon coast. You can almost always see whales out there if you wait a few minutes. temp stays around 55-65.

Our timing was good as my wife got home from MN - she didn’t come with us, and our AC at home was broken. Going to have it replaced. The good news is she works for a refrigeration company.

Enjoy it while it lasts. Just a matter of time before the only whale watching you’ll be doing is in a van down by the North Pole.

I’m not a rocket surgeon or geograpist so bear with me. How do you go down by the North Pole?

Given the poster such questions are pointless.
