Us too. We were in the theatre Friday for MI and my wife got up to use the bathroom and I instinctively reached for the remote

Regarding the so-called “bathroom bill”, the state Republicans were the grownups in the room.

And whereas the election may have centered on the issue, it was ironically single issue Republicans who voted the Republican Governor out, owing to his support for toll lanes through their district.

I will see beautiful movies with special effects in the theater. I am talking avatar or marvel movies. Oppenheimer seems to be a movie that wouldn’t be diminished by seeing it on a smaller screen.

Probably. For me, with a daughter in the business and it being an event that will dominate the zeitgeist, I want to see it. But while we used to see a flick a week in theatre, it's rare now, maybe 3-4x a year. We will have watched 3 in 9 days, which is wild (MI, Barbie and Oppenheimer).

The main reason I want to see Oppenheimer, in the theatre, is because I want to spend $30 on popcorn and drinks for my wife and myself.

When movies like the Exorcist and Jaws came out there was a pee wherever necessary policy.

Both highly rated. There will be a halo effect, but I suspect they are both very good

I saw an interview with Nolan and he drew a parallel between AI and the Manhattan Project. He wondered if Silicon Valley grasped their own “Oppenheimer Moment.”

    Food for thought for sure.

AI Feels like y2k to me vs Oppenheimer. More hype than substance.

I don't know, the stuff I can do with AI right now is impressive, and it is just in its infancy. Going to be a lot of ramifications from this new tech, and lots of it won't be good.

I also do things I would prefer not to to support my children.

So early reviews are pretty positive, so who knows... guess it might not be too bad after all.

Yep, sounds legit. The RT consensus:

Barbie is a visually dazzling comedy whose meta humor is smartly complemented by subversive storytelling.

Gonna be brilliant. Greta Gerwig is one of the most promising writer/directors in the biz. This is her moment.

Somewhat off-topic, but a shout out to Google. If you Google anything related to this Barbie movie, they have all these pink fire works going off over the results.

I saw it yesterday, and then today when I Googled Greta just now it did it again.
