    those georgia electors who haven't already cut a deal might be getting a little nervous. some pretty high profile pub members in that group

    Some prominent pubs treated the election like it was a game, or a reality show. It ruined their lives which should be what Trump followers take away.

    Question for the board-under Michigan or federal law-what is the possible legal pathway (as remote as it might have been) for these electors to have been legitimized at law, especially after every one of Trump’s lawsuits in Michigan was decided against him?

    I know that, but on what legal basis? And if there is none, why would these people sign documentation saying they were valid electors?

    There was no legal pathway. The only way to be electors was for Trump to win Michigan and the state to certify them as electors. They were stupid to sign. Suggest you read the January 6 committee report which addresses this

    I think the plan was for Pense to refuse to accept the official electors, and "send it back" to the state legislature -- which was controlled by republicans at the time -- under a legal theory that Trump's team was pushing that the state legislature had the authority to "uncertify" the electors and supplant the fake electors. It was a hail mary ... for sure ... but they claimed there was a legal pathway. I believe I read recently that SCOTUS has since ruled on an adjacent case that threw water on this idea...
