I don’t disagree. What I mean is that he shouldn’t be let off the hook or given benefits of doubt based upon an assumed diagnosis.
I’ve always said this one was the real problem for Trump and if they’re out to get him, this is the low-hanging fruit. It’s hard to deny fake electors and calling states to find votes. He would have been fine if he had kept it at pressing the states to investigate fraud, but he went over the line. IMO, the documents case is chicken feed compared to this one and this is the one that will take Trump out of the 2024 election. My belief is DeSantis will be the 2024 GOP nominee. His success or failure will depend largely on these two issues: the status of the economy and the status of the war in Ukraine in fall of 2024.
It’s still such a low-ranking issue that DeSantis was able to win the female vote by 7 points in 2022. If a significant recession materializes or we have an undesirable outcome in Ukraine, those will be the polarizing issues, imo.
