What did MAGA do when the FBI searched and seized at Mar A Lago? What did they do when Trump was indicted? Unless I've missed something, the only response was an explosive release of hot air.
I get that, but that’s only the beginning. What’s gonna happen when people start shooting at each other. More people on each side are going to slowly find the way in until we’re into a full-blown Civil War.
The rule of law is going to mean nothing to the 200,000 armed People from the right and the 40,000 barista‘s. That was kind of the point of my post. I think that the actions of this administration are pushing people into violence. I don’t agree with the violence….but I see it coming.
thank you. Your response demonstrates exactly what I expect is going to happen. No foresight. I suspect you’re not armed.
As you noted, we don't know what any eventual allegations or evidence might be. We don't know if the J6 investigation is more focused on potential incitement, the fraudulent elector scheme, obstruction, or other things. We don't know if there are recordings or what witness testimony might have been presented. He's innocent until proven guilty, and the legal process needs to play out in this case as well as the classified documents case and any others. Notably, Trump supporters have argued that Trump could serve still as president even if he's convicted or incarcerated. There are a lot of moving parts here. The notion that a risk/threat of terrorism or violence should render a former head of state above the law seems very problematic and cowardly to me. I'm also not sure how many Americans might actually take up arms. Millions and millions of Americans believe the election was stolen by an evil group of people who want to groom little kids and destroy America. But relatively few of them have been personally willing to commit violence or go to prison over it. Even most of those who did commit violence fought law enforcement and weren't out attacking other civilians. Not to mention the question of how many Americans who support DeSantis, Haley, Scott, or other Republicans over Trump would be willing to go to civil war over Trump. Finally, it's interesting to me how the right likes to emphasize gun violence and shootings in blue parts of the country but also seems to believe that MAGA is the only group in the country with guns.
The liberals of Too Hot led by General Citygator? This is a ridiculous post but thought I’d play along.
I'm reminded of this quote: The political right already used violence to try to overturn an election. Now, this is an attempt to use the threat of violence to overturn the rule of law because it is binding the person that they think it should protect but not bind.
Joined just to report you to the FBI. These posts should not be shrugged off. If you have any ties to any militias they will find out. Either way, you're on a list as of today. Zero issue turning in these traitors to our great country. Any talk like this should be met with extreme caution. Maybe that's what the FBI will tell the owners. Don't know, don't care.
The one sided win at all cost and never compromise can only go one way. As an exGOP, my greatest fear was that trump’s rhetoric and narcissism would take us there quicker.
Am I the only one that thinks that Trump released this information today because the Desantis is doing his CNN interview today?
Because Jan 6 was not the type of violence I am talking about. Only 1 person was shot and killed, and she (the victim) was unarmed. You miss the point of the thread.
I signed up for GC just to let you know I reported you to the FBI. Your rhetoric is scary and not normal.
Are you so incapable of having a civil conversation about a topic which could have disastrous consequences for our nation and the world that you have to resort to 2nd grade ad hominem attacks? How pathetic you are.
I really don't see a possibility of there being some Antifa army confronting the Trump supporters. If Trump gets convicted, it will go down like Jan 6th in a way - Trump supporters clashing with law enforcement except this time there will be a much larger and better prepared law enforcement presence that will serve as a deterrent to escalating violence.
The right will be so pissed that they will start shooting legal protesters therefore we should do away with the rule of law for people extremists on the right think are above the law. Not a good way to run the country counselor.
As to the central question raised in the first post: If Trump is indeed indicted for any misconduct related to January 6, what do you reasonably believe is going to happen? Trump has already been indicted twice. Are there compelling reasons we should expect a materially different reaction around the country if he's indicted a third time?
