There's something that you seem incapable of understanding. You say "the guy," meaning some regular guy like you or me, should not "harass, touch, or rape a girl." What profound wisdom! I'm talking about rapists, not regular guys. Or do you consider UGA football players who sexually assault or rape women to be regular guys like you and me? Now I don't know any specifics in these cases as to what attracted these particular sickos to their victims, whether it was dress, just good looks or whatever, but in any case we're talking apples and oranges and there's no point in discussing this further.

I don't know. Depends on the book.

Seriously, though. I agree with @Skink in that you've misinterpreted coco's post and should lay off him.

What your's saying is if a HS girl is wearing a short, tight skirt to prom and gets raped, she had it coming to her.

we don't need no stinking leg-humpers here anyhow, especially any with dissenting opinions on THIS topic

not exactly the same, but similar. Like Percy Harvin being held out of games due to "migraines". Yeah, right.

I went to UF in the 1970's. That was fifty years ago. Girls wore shorts, skimpy outfits, short shorts, and tube tops (remember those? yum!!). I have had two sons attend UF since. I don't see much difference other than tights and tight yoga pants.

Cocodrillo must have gone to UF in the 1930's.

Her attire is almost never the problem.

The problem arises when they get with the wrong guys, drink too much or do drugs, and go to their apartment, whatever.

So I agree, to an extent, but clothing is not the issue.

I hope the families affected by their recent issues have the fortitude to keep pressing their cases. I'm sure it's daunting when the program and entire state throw their full weight against anyone who challenges them. The response and access the program was given after the crash is telling as to how they handle their "disciplinary issues."

Agree, the question people seem to be missing is first, does it seem like you have to have a program run like that, with the top recruits in the country? And, does that make it worth it to win a few Nattys?
Does anyone think that any team that has won a football national championship in the last 40 years is squeaky clean? Maybe Spurrier's 96 team but I can't think of any other than that. And his may have not been all that pure.

How are you supposed to know how she feels if you don't shoot your shot?

There's douchy behavior that's kind of lumped in here as well, and I'm not taking anything away from that. Douchy behavior is douchy behavior, and that's not cool. We need to make chivalry normal again. But there's nothing wrong with a single man pursuing a woman who he believes is single.

And moral judgment from the outside on the man shouldn't be based on whether the woman rejects him.

Social standards like that is how you develop a society of weak men and women asking themselves "where'd all the good men go?" You told them they're assholes just for pursuing you and they listened.

As far as the whole "how women dress thing," it's really a simple issue that is just really difficult to discuss online.
    1. A man who rapes or harasses a woman is ALWAYS at fault for the rape/harassment. There are no exceptions to this rule.
    2. There are evil men out there and there are assholes out there.
    3. In light of 1 & 2, women should make efforts to protect themselves. You should not put yourself in positions that make you an easy target, like walking around the South side of Chicago alone at 2am dressed flamboyantly while being hammered drunk. That's not to absolve any rapist or harasser from ANY responsibility, it's a way of protecting women and enabling them to protect themself.

What Gator players under UM sexually assaulted women by the dozens, or multiple players drag racing their cars down highways? With people losing their lives??

So what a player does many years after he leaves UF is now our responsibility?
How many years exactly is the rule? And who decides how many years?
Does Henry Ruggs killing someone while DUI count against Bama and Saban?

What the AJC and actual transcripts are saying is that the ATHENS COPS cover up and don't prosecute wrong doing by football players.
And the result was one football player and 1 recruiting coordinator killed last January. Perhaps that rings a bell?

Never just clothing. Every detail about a person male or female matters. The image you portray of yourself matters.

I've been a Gator fan a long time and have read countless stories or facts about Georgia, FSU, Miami, Alabama, Tenn, LSU, Auburn etc. that entail cheating, paying players, covering up crimes...you name it. But for whatever reason...the programs always seem to get away with it and get a slap on the wrist or nothing at all. Yet somehow the Gator program does not receive the same preferential treatment these other programs receive so I would not hold my breath that Smart is going to be concerned one bit about the AJC article or investigation because nothing will come of it.

I hate to sound whiny but it's pretty true. Florida does not get the same deference that other programs get. Period.
