Before you respond here, and start bashing Trump (or me), the purpose of this question is quite legitimate. I have not seen any reported conduct of Trump on or before Jan 6, which comes even close to rising to criminality. Don’t pull his words in isolation, but look at them in contact with all of his speeches. At no time did he ever suggest anyone commit any criminal act. That is just a true statement, and you can hate Trump all you want, but deep down inside, everyone knows that this is true.

But for all of the Trump haters out there, let’s just assume you’re right. Let’s assume that Trump’s words somehow rise to the level of inciting a riot. That is your best case scenario. Nobody’s claiming that he trespassed into any congressional building, which, of course would be silly.

Now there is this story that Biden’s department of justice is looking to indict Trump for something regarding January 6. The facts and subject matter of the indictment aren’t currently known to the public. frankly, they don’t really matter.

If Trump is indeed indicted for any misconduct related to January 6, what do you reasonably believe is going to happen? I think Trump got more than 60 million votes. How many of those 60 million are armed? 80%? So let’s just say 40 million are armed. Of the 40 million armed, how many get so pissed that they decide to either form a local militia or act on their own to express their anger? I would guess only a tiny fraction. Less than 1/2 of 1%…maybe. That is 200,000 angry armed people.

What is going to happen when 200,000 angry armed people confront 5,000 mostly unarmed ANTIFA baristas? The first confrontation will likely result in a lot of injured/dead baristas. The second confrontation may be the beginning of a civil war between the outer extremes of the political spectrum. Then everyone gets dragged in. Soldiers may get involved…and they will die on American soil. You may disagree with me, but is the possibility of any of this even worth taking the chance? No!

If the left wants to rid the Country of Trump, isn’t it better and safer to do so at the ballot box? This is a sad day for our once great Country. People need to look at the bigger picture.

Trump says he is DOJ Jan 6 grand jury investigation target

Maybe, but it’s not the right doing it, not primarily.

Why would they be confronting "ANTIFA baristas," and you know, not the armed might of the US government? This is probably one of the most ridiculous posts I've seen in a while, and that is saying something given the forum.

This is a very confusing post from OP. Who exactly would this right wing terrorist group be battling?

Assuming you are right, that 200K wouldn't be massed all in one spot. It would be at best a couple hundred here and a couple hundred there.

I would like to think that in a country that values rule of law, evidence will be presented, and a judge or jury will decide whether or not the evidence supports the charges, a verdict will be given, and Trump will either go to prison or declared a free man.

Or maybe we don't live in a country that values rule of law, and people will take up arms against the government.

I used to think I knew, but the last 7 years have been pretty wild. So maybe it will be civil war. I hope not.

I can’t believe someone who finds it necessary to proclaim he/she is a lawyer posted such utter bullshit!

THIS is what’s wrong with our country:
    https://thehill.com/homenews/house/...hing-merrick-garland-after-mccarthy-surprise/
“House Republicans are debating whether to focus impeachment efforts on Attorney General Merrick Garland after Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) suggested an inquiry against him, taking some members by surprise after much of the GOP impeachment furor had been directed at other Biden officials.”

Your comments about Trump show me yet again that one can be educated enough to know better, yet doesn’t. Emotions and how one was raised often overpower intellect. People like you are so damn busy demonizing the left that you fail - refuse? - to examine your own house. Extrems are to be avoided. Extremists are trying to ruin the GOP. You’re just too emotionally involved to see it. Thank God your type is the minority!

How many Civil War threads are needed? Both sides are heavily armed and mutual destruction is the only outcome.
I know many people will shoot your ass in this country and not because of politics, because you cut them off or some other grievance.

It's pretty clear Trump was trying to illegally overturn an election. Whether there's enough evidence to convict him in a court of law is hard to say, but there's certainly enough evidence to indict him.

One wouldn’t think one would have to school a lawyer - if he really is one - on the rule of law.

I did not say that people were going to organize for battle. The likely scenario would be people would organized to protest, antifa would show, and at that point there would be armed conflict. It would get worse and worse with each passing day and each passing protest. My point is, people on the right would be so pissed off that they would be attacking the counter protesters with violence.

you know damn well that the antifa baristas would be the ones counter protesting the people on the right. That’s where the violence is going to begin.
