Ugh. Lots of good guys with guns on the scene and still ends tragically. No idea what else there is to do but send Ts&Ps.

Ruger LCP II is decent; despite it's tiny size (smaller than a cell phone), it has fairly low recoil. How tall is she?

If not that, then Sig Sauer P365 or Springfield Hellcat.

Looked at the Ruger LCP. It’s about the size my wife likes.

I can second the 365. I have two of them: the Macro and 365X. Great guns that conceal well. They have a Rose package available that is marketed for women and has more feminine aesthetics

We need to do away with the "good guy with a gun" nonsense anyway.

There are no good guys with guns committing crimes with them. By definition. And they're not deputized to do anything with their guns for public safety. Which is only one of MANY reasons they almost never do. They are allowed to use them for self-defense, which also almost never happens. Compared to gun crimes, it's a microscopic number. Meanwhile, gun owners are statistically 43-times more likely to have their own guns used against a member of the household than to ever use it in self-defense.

In practice, guns increase the safety of their owners such a tiny % of the time, it's almost immeasurable. The only practical benefit to the gun owner is feeling like it makes then secure.

So let's stop using the term, because nobody cares about the "good guy with a gun". We are concerned about all the BAD guys with guns. They may not out-number the good guys with guns, but they're the ones out there using their guns to murder people.

I will say this about all the good guys with guns: they're not that good. Because if they were, they'd be fighting like hell right along with the rest of us to outlaw assault rifles & high-capacity magazines, far more effective and universal background checks and wait periods, and to make it much harder to buy a gun. If you're a good guy with a gun, you wouldn't sit on your hands or keep voting for republicans who facilitate every mass shooting in the country. You'd join the fight to make your right to bear arms more secure and less drenched in the blood of innocents.

Because the more certain way to ensure that the government will eventually come after all your guns, is to keep allowing the worst people in society buy ANY guns, ANY time they want to, and carry them ANY place they want to, with no permit. Which is where the QOP just keeps on driving us.

Jacksonville, Florida shooting: Multiple fatalities reported, mayor says | CNN

Multiple people were killed in a shooting in Jacksonville, Florida, Saturday afternoon, Mayor Donna Deegan told CNN.

She said “multiple fatalities” were reported and more details would be coming from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office shortly.

Deegan also told CNN affiliate WJXT the shooter was barricaded inside a Dollar General store on Kings Road. It was not immediately clear if victims were shot inside the store or at a different location.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson Eric Prosswimmer told CNN that the department was “on standby” to treat victims but could not share any information about how many people were hurt.
