That's where I saw it... I thought I was going nuts. I knew I saw a dedicated thread on it and when I went back to post that we have one it wasn't there. Lol.. I just looked in the wrong place for it. Thanks for clearing that up, paidinfull.
Agree. But I think it's a mental thing for him, as his steps are really good, and he is a real improvement in play action as he hides the ball well. I think he hears steps and hampers his use of the pocket and refuses to step forward in the pocket. Wisky's OL did a number on him.
Watched the UW/Northwestern game. If Mertz plays like this year we're gonna have a lot of fun. As long UF has consistent competent play calling (doesn't have to be great), Mertz will be successful.
I really believe his experience is gonna be the biggest benefit he brings to our team. As I've mentioned before, there are currently only 4 D1 QB's that have more starting experience then Mertz . He throws an extremely catchable ball, executes Play action beautifully, moves well enough in the pocket and has a good football IQ. Last year we had a QB with all the talent you could ask for in a QB but had basically zero starting experience and you seen the results, now we get a QB with enough talent to utilize the strengths of the skill positions around him AND the most starting experience of a QB heading into his 4th year as we've ever had with the exception of maybe Chris Leak. I really am excited to see the reactions this team is going to elicit this season from the plethora of doubters we have.
They get paid to monitor clowns (not you, of course) that break the rules... not to change OPs around, and do our bidding. He never said it was prohibited, he simply said he was not going to fix the thread.
