I was looking for a previous post where I mentioned I was going to find a way to secure my pistol in my Jeep. I couldn't find it, so this seemed like the most appropriate place. I installed this over the weekend. Someone is going to play hell trying to steal my gun from my vehicle and use it for nefaious purposes.
I do keep the key it in and in the unlocked position while I'm driving around. I have a quick disconnect on my key ring and when I exit the jeep, I lock it and put the key back on my keyring. If I'm riding around with the doors off, I usually have my pew pew beside me next to the e-brake and return it to the safe if I have to leave the Jeep to go inside a store or anything like that. It's still accessible while I'm sitting in the driver seat, so that's a plus. I brought some foam liner stuff from work yesterday and plan on lining the drawer. A lot of the network equipment I order comes with dissicant packs, and I plan on putting one in there to help keep the moisture down.

An EMT buddy of mine told me that toddlers often shoot themselves because when they can't squeeze trigger the normal way, they turn the gun around facing themselves so that they can use their thumbs to squeeze the trigger. That statistic is tragic.

RIP. I heard about that this morning. I know that victim's dad, we work(ed) for the same company. I worked with him on a couple of projects. He is an engineer that specializes in turbines and seemed like a really good dude. I helped on the networking side of things. I think he has since retired and took on a consulting role. I feel so bad for him. No one deserves to lose a son so tragically.
