I think this subject needs it's own thread. I hope Strictlin reads this article...

Lagway, and the new recruits/transfer players, and the schedule will sell out all of the seats in The Swamp these next few years. Now is not the time to experiment with one of the loudest stadiums in all of college football. Now is also NOT the time to reduce seating.

As we chronicled on the site last week, give us shade and a better sound system, and we are good.

This will be a defining moment for Scott Stircklin. Get it wrong, and it doesn’t matter if Florida football wins the national championship.

Gator Nation will still want him gone.

May the odds forever be in his favor.

It's happening no matter what the casual fan wants. The boosters with the money gave it to the UAA to make it happen.

I’m kinda divided on it. It will be interesting to see what they do. I’d rather pump money into concessions and have “Masters Golf” prices. I’m not too worried about seats. It’ll get loud when it needs to. Nowadays more and more fans aren’t interested in that type of environment, which is the saddest realization for me.

They don't care about loud fans, they want rich fans, so they will do whatever it takes to make those fans happy, if they can sell loveseat size seats to 40000 people instead of bleacher seats to 80000 they will.

They want the cheap fans to stay home and watch on TV.

Well some fans would rather sit at home and watch the games on their 70 inch TVs with cheap beer.

Here’s where you lose me. Your pride of having a 90,000 seat stadium over a national championship is illogical. National championships matter!

Yeah, I disagree with that. If Napier works out, I think Stricklin will get his share of the credit.

As for the topic at hand, this is the next arms war in the SEC so best get a move on it.

I didn't write this article, however, that sentence is hyperbole for sure.

I think this is going to make our stadium more comfortable. As I age comfort becomes more important. I had a roommate in college whose dad had a pee bag. I used to envy him when he didn’t have to use the bathroom. Didn’t envy my roommate when he had to empty it. That is respect. lol

    Correct!

Look at the Sphere in Vegas. That thing is phenomenal! Inside has a 250 ft tall 3/4 wrap around LED screen, 16,000 surround sound speakers and haptic seating.

The ability do use that stinking bathroom before you shit yourself is important also. They have to have way more.

I can dig it. Keep the feel of the old swamp, but make it new.

I'm sure $400 million can pay for that and several other amenities.

Lol... Not the entire stadium... the LED and the speaker system is something that we can afford. The only way to really change The Swamp would require more than $800 million and we would have to relocate a swimming pool.

No way are we ever going to try and rebuild The Swamp into some NFL type stadium.

HA! In one of the other threads I did a quick toilet fixture count of what would be required by code.

Here it is, it was in that Architect hiring thread. Unfortunately my firm will not be going after it.
