Mike Brey stepping down at year end

Although never elite, Notre Dame has been a good to very good program for decades. Not so good this season, so this is probably inevitable.

 

Digger Phelps was their best coach. IIRC he was the ND coach on the bookend wins over UCLA when UCLA won 88 in a row.

 

Down 11 scored the final 12 to send Walton packing. I remember that one well.
