Those unis are pretty awful. It will make their regular unis look amazing when they go back to them. I'm thinking Trask will get some QB action this year. It'll happen. Patience grasshopper... Go Gators.
I don’t agree with your point… He supposed couldn’t “beat out” Feleipe Franks either. But look what happened when Feleipe went down. Mullen is what kept Trask from “beating out Feleipe” not his lack of ability. Trask readily proved he deserved to start the rest of that season and the next.
What had Trask shown thus far in the NFL that would give the Bucs enough confidence to simply hand him the reigns to the team?
They lost Brady. They lost Gabbert. Are they not supposed to look at options to round out their QB room? If Trask outperforms Mayfield, you really think they won't start him?
I guess some fans were under the impression that Trask would simply be handed the starting job after Brady left. The Bucs' staff has seen countless hours of Trask in practices and scrimmages for the past 2 seasons, clearly they're still not comfortable with the prospect of just giving him the reigns - at least not yet. Mayfield has had a roller coaster of a career so far but still, he's a proven vet who gives the team the best chance to win in 2023. I've never understood the logic of getting mad at NFL teams for making personnel decisions. Those coaches and that front office are fighting for their jobs too, so they have zero incentive in putting any player on the roster (especially at an important position like QB) in a position to fail.
If Trask doesn’t play, we will never know. Franks starters over him and that was a very dumb decision.
As soon as they drafted Jameis, I lost all respect for the organization. Hopefully traffic does get a shot and hopefully he takes advantage of it and as well.
What's your point? The Bucs haven't named a starter. They've openly declared it's a competition that will be decided based on performance in training camp and preseason.
