Watch the visits. If they don't come to campus, they likely won't sign in December. BBQ is coming up. Eager to see who attends.
4 QB transfers the last 6 years have won the Heisman trophy. They didn't necessarily leave because they got beat out some were just younger and alr3ady behind others and weren't getting a shot. Baker Mayfield, Justin fields, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Caleb Williams, jayden daniels , shit going back a little further you have Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, Ryan Mallett etc the list is ridden with names of very talented QB's who all had different reasons to transfer not just because they got beat out. And since there is only 1 starter per team with lots of talent at the position it's becoming more common for QB's to move on and find their fit elsewhere.
So many quarterbacks are underrated out of high school and end up at smaller programs also. As soon as they figure out that they are elite, they go to the bigger programs also.
He is a JUCO transfer that didn't commit until last month. 247 does list him as committed, but, not yet enrolled.
TOS said they expect him to be enrolled soon. Working on some remaining classes but doesn't expect any hiccups lol i darn sure did forget about him. Thanks!
How many do we take in the 2024 recruiting class? Here's a list that we may be picking the last few from. I know only 5 or 6 of these players have a chance, but I will make a big-ish list to choose from, in no particular order. Some of these are a wish list recruits, so don't kill the messenger. D'Antre Robinson - DL J.L. McCray - DL David Stone - DL Colin Simmons - Edge Jordan Ross - Edge Zavier Mincey - S Jamori Howard - S Fred Gaskin - S K.T. Bolden - S Charles Lester III - CB Wardell Mack - CB Jeremiah Smith - WR
Normally I would agree with Shane (2 more) but not this year, Napier is making magic. Remember the BBQ is coming up and I expect some movement from that event. I love it when the old adage of "get on the recruiting bus or get left behind", it's leaving, is really true. Personally I think 25 but several podcasters are talking 27, but thats a reach IMO and they include flipping J Smith at wide reciever. As much as we all want that it's going to be tough to take him from coach Hartline. While not mentioning specific names I kinda think UF finishes with: 1 more OL, 1 more DL, 1 CB and 1 safety, something along those lines. Then of course the season happens and I think most of us agree that we may lose a couple and pick up a couple. Unless the season turns into a dud I'm just going to call it an "even-steven" Regarding the final shake out, Bama is coming, USC, TAMU but if the cards fall right this is looking top 5 if not top 3. Very proud of what the staff has done in recruiting this cycle. They are building a strong talent base, one that will thrust UF in the upper echelon of SEC programs. Now coaching them up and W/L is a different story but the staff is doing a great job and I think giving the fan base hope for a great future.
All very good points... and I agree, but there is chatter about Hartline taking the Northwestern job. And Lagway is friends with Smith too. 50/50 is where I think that flip is right now. I also think we get a flip from some player that none of us suspect. In the end I think we end up in the top 4 or 5, but I am hoping for a top 3. Total recruits... 27 sounds reasonable to me too. Get the best while you can. This year has a ton of + ones in it.
Robinson is a take, 50/50 with Texass. McCrary they want. Stone, Looog shot. Simmons, not happening IMO. Ross, UF moved on. Mincey/ Howard, who commits first. Gaskin/Bolden/Lester not happening IMO. Mack, a take and will be at the cookout. Smith, a take for sure but a long shot at this time.
Thank you for your input, Candyman. Now would you care to make a list of 7 or 8 that you'd like to have us sign...
Wardell Mack will visit Lsu next Friday(28) And Florida Saturday and Sunday(29/30) Commitment in August. As of now Texas Lsu Florida
