The link is the main actor, apparently. And if he's pushing Qanon stuff in interviews and the movie is about child sex trafficking, the dots are easy to connect. Again, I'm sure the movie is good. It's got good reviews. But when all of a sudden it's being pushed hard by right wing people, there's more to the story.

The actors’ personal lives are irrelevant to the story being portrayed. By the way, costar Mira Sorvino is a Democrat.

Guy works for evil government stopping child trafficking. Quits and goes to another country to fight said trafficking to rescue a particular child. This all points to a giant Govt conspiracy covering up child sex trade. If one believes reddit ;)
Personally, I think the story is worthwhile, focus is the victims. Gets lost that there are people doing the same work in almost every city of a decent population size.

Caviezel is a damn good actor, and a devout Catholic. I wouldn't go see a Caviezel movie because he's Catholic (as am I) any more than I'd forgo a Tom Cruise movie, because he's a scientologist.

That's kinda foolish. Imho, you watch or don't because a movie invites or repels, not bc you don't agree with an actor's politics or religion...

(Course that's kust me...you do you).

Which is the only reason why a certain contingent is hyping this movie up. If the movie starred an actor who the right doesn’t like they’d be panning this movie. Very predictable group of characters.

    Johnny Depp is pretty liberal.

The Pirates... franchise was largely fueled and sustained by conservatives...

I could list hundreds of examples.

If conservatives couldn't see past our values in patronizing our entertainment, pop music would still sound like Lawrence Welk.

We propelled and sustained the Van Halens, Bruce Spingsteens, Princes, Madonnas, Katy Perrys...right along with our liberal counter parts, in spite of our political/religious differences.

It's the preaching AT us, where we draw the line.

Eg--years ago, I was at a Don Henley concert at what's now the Trop. Crowd digging his show...until he started preaching some libby billshit.....and the crowd booed his ass, until he shut the hell up, and got back to playing his music. And just like that, all was forgiven, and we ommuned in good ol rock n roll.

TBL: It. Is. Yall, who define folks according to Y'ALL'S politics.

I don't care about the actors religion. I said the fact this movie was all of a sudden being pimped by right wing Qanon types meant my spidey senses were tingling. The fact he's spewing Qanon bullshit checks out.

I can't believe the Q wackos stopped donating to Trump's defense fund long enough to pay for this POS.

It's a sex trafficking movie financed by a guy who runs sugar baby websites. Real credible.

And Caviezel is a wacko who wandered around the set during downtime telling people he was Jesus.

You can tell who this garbage appeals to based on the fanboys here.

I mentioned his religion as analogy, since I'm not a Qanon guy, but am Catholic.

    Whatever. I volunteered a perspective.

Seems ironic to me, that your dismissing the movie on what amounts to a hokey conspiracy theory...bc you think it's pimping a conspiracy theory.

    It's actually pretty funny.

No, his “star” power along with crazy are being used to market the movie (on the sites crazier than here) as evidence of a conspiracy and govt/hollywood cover ups.

That is what is driving attendance, just like rallies

Was there a pizza restaurant? Did a character named "Hillary" eat any kids?

Not bad, though, 2000 Mules only made 1.5 million at the box office ... not as good as black mermaid movies, though ...

The fact the movie is being pushed by Qanon types isn't a hokey conspiracy theory. Its happening. Nor did I say the movie itself is pimping a conspiracy theory. 0/2

So ... Fox has had story after story about the movie. The Qanon guy on the overpass is hyping. Look who started the thread here ..

Are we supposed to pretend that this movie has been adopted by at least some on the right?

What specifically in this movie is garbage? Is there anything in the movie that is factually incorrect?

Don't connect the dots. Don’t use your imagination. Don’t use guilt by association. Please refer to specific things in this movie.

Sure. 'Not hard to connect the dots' isn't *they're pushing an agenda.*

Hey bro...it's your buck. Don't piss it away supporting some boogeyman agender.... I'm not complaining

I'm just saying IF conservatives actually spent our money as ideologically driven and sensitive as yall are indicating here...our culture would be a lot more Lawrence welk than...what it is.

But then, we seem to be getting wise to our $$$ influence, as with Bud light, target, and Disney,

Huh...so this is how you do it...

...think I'll load up the fam, and treat em to an educational, enlightening, inspiring movie, and help a good Catholic feller out, rather than patronizing some woke ditnee crap...

If conservatives chose the movies they watched based on the politics of the actors, they would watch almost zero movies.
