The same thing happened to the Gators on the last apparel deal... We got screwed on the too, compared to several lesser schools.

How much is that? Do you like YouTube? Or are you talking about free YouTube?

I watch a lot more than just football.

The B1G is the only conference that really has a better deal though, right? Their deal was cut in ‘22? When was ours cut and when does it end?

I think ours lasts about a decade, and the Big is the only one we are worried about. The other conferences are garbage and should not even be considered. There is now the power two.

New SEC commish suck! I'm mad at him for losing CBS coverage too.

You guys blame espn for that? Seems like the ire should be aimed towards our ad’s and sec commish. They’re the ones that negotiated for our side. The couple articles I glanced through, it doesn’t really look like they’re getting double either. Like 10-15mill a year more per team. Is that wrong? Looked like we may have a better secondary deal for the sports other than football too?

From the end user standpoint, I’m pretty happy with all the content I have access to, which is what I’m directly paying for. A lot of the complaints I see are content related, and I don’t get really get that side of it. Since the sec network and the espn app came about, I’ve never had more access to gator sports. I’d bet I watch at least 100 games a year that I would not have been able to see previously.

I don’t care what channel it’s on as long as it’s on. I just don’t like big having twice the paycheck.

the NFL. They are on abc, nbc, fox, cbs, YouTube, Amazon prime, and espn.

leagues increase their $ and exposure by playing on multiple networks.

Not SEC related, but expanded college football playoffs should be played across multiple networks. Competition brings out the best in network coverage. Nfl playoffs is played across 3-4 networks with the super bowl- the big cash cow- rotating. All networks thus advertise for and push the sport which helps the league.

SEC and college football playoff should do the same.

Lol. Which part? Why did I quote you? Just continuing the conversation. You didn’t point a finger that direction, but others have. I was just asking if that’s who you blame or does anyone else blame espn?

The second paragraph is more general complaints I see throughout the course of the different seasons. I see a lot of ESPN hate here. I don’t think any of the networks are really good guys out to do the best for us or our favorite schools.

I don’t follow the NFL, so not sure how their deals work. Are the deals not more directly cut with the individual teams?

No. Mainly cut along conference lines in some capacity and then bid on by networks.

The playoffs could be done that way, but not sure the regular season could, nor would I want it to. I like being able to watch our games no matter where I’m at, on the same platform. No interest in dealing with the limited availability and regional blackouts NFL fans have to deal with either.

Espn is annoying but I’ve said I could care less as long as the games are available. Getting a bad financial deal should fall at someone’s feet as I’ve said also.

Can we compete with the B1G moving forward is the question? They seem to be one step ahead for whatever reason, I dont really understand.

I dunno, abc plus the ESPN universe of channels seems larger than those three networks combined for sports. If the sec goes one way, and big 10ish goes the other, I’m sure it will be like everything else in this world where it’s conglomerating to 2 choices for anything.
